New and eager

Hello, I just started with quadcopters last November 2016, and only manage to practice on Saturdays.

My first drone was a Syma X5C-1, and I managed to take it out only 3 times. First flight, and second flight videos. The last time was tragic, as I lost control of the drone, panicked, and I couldn't find it anymore :( Since then, learned some lessons:
  1. Get familiar with the basic movements first, not the video recording or taking camera pictures.
  2. Know how to bring back the drone when you've lost orientation. After I lost my first drone, this video was my eyeopener.

My second drone came as a compulsive purchase. It is the Jumpbo Q6, which looks like a Syma X8 clone (can anyone confirm this?). It has camera, FPV, headless mode, and auto return.
Here are some videos I took -

I'm waiting for my Furibee F36 Nano, to put more practice flying indoors, and bought a Syma X8 battery spare, that hopefully will work with the Jumpbo Q6.

Good for you,
I saw your first flight, It wasn't smooth but I'm sure you'll figure out soon, I've built two quadcopters myself, But I am not a pro in flying them, since I don't have any place to fly, and where I live they shoot down unregistered drones with actual bullets (outrageous right?), I can't practice much, except for my school gym which I can use twice a month only.
I never had a camera on my copters, Tho POV cameras do seem to be necessary for long-distance flying, I'm certain that my copters can ascend up to 2km without a problem. I'll manage to get one tho. Oh and I had a Syma too, Once, I don't remember what type it was, I just remember that the same thing happened with me, I was flying it on a rooftop, I lost control, It got away, I panicked, Didn't know what to do It landed on someone's rooftop tho, I'm sure of that, I asked them to give it back and they simply asked me to go away in return xD
~ Good luck.

thanks for your replies and show of support, I really appreciate it.
@Dural_ , that's too bad you live in a place that need to register quads, and with all that shooting going on. Is POV the same as FPV?

I can only fly my drone on Saturdays, so I make it a point not to miss it. And since I'm a beginner, I do it early morning when there is very little wind still. My latest was yesterday, and it was a great feeling to be able to make the drone circle around me - a first!

I wonder if those people shooting at the drones..... do they know the bullets have to come down somewhere?? Wonder how many people theyve killed so far.

I think they're the same. Not sure tho, Point Of View, First Person View, Both sound good for me, I meant the goggles, Like Fatshark. Must really feel good flying a good quad with one of those...

Well, it's the military so I don't think they really care. Aside from that, I don't think a bullet could kill someone when shot upwards, can it?

absolutely
Depends on the trajectory of the bullet. If you shoot a gun straight up the bullet will eventually lose enough kinetic energy so that gravity becomes the predominant force and it will simply fall. If it hits you on the head, you might get a headache, but it won't kill you.

However, if you shoot at a lower angle and you hit someone, well, that's quite a different story.
