Need some advise on my quad please (Rookie)

Hello, any help is highly appreciated :) (I havnt been able to add any links to pictures as I havnt made 3 posts yet so this could be impossible, sorry)

Basically I brought this cheap 250 race drone from hobbyking about 1 year ago.

It has been alright, never really knew what I was doing as I just followed a configuring guide and then just flew it for a while. Now its been a while since I flew it and now I want to get back into it but the frame is all a bit broken and its glass fibre so its quite heavy and finally it folds up which I dont really like. So the idea is I want to get a knew frame but still use all the components from the old drone. Sounds simple enough hey, but the problem is the esc's are kind of integrated into the frame which is like a big pdb, each esc is connected to the pdb/frame with these 7 soldered terminals. Most videos I watch of esc have 3 wires that run to the motor and a positive and negative wire for power. So I have no idea if I can use this as I dont know what each soldered bit is for.

Thats my first issue, the second issue is it came with a cc3d but every video I see says they are not very good, also I dont know anything about programming them so I want a knew one where there is lots of videos on how to do that. So my question is , what is a good, cheap flight controller that is easy to program and is up to date. I found this F3 flight controller on bangood Apparently it is good. Or should I just stick with my CC3D?

Thank you, any help would be great as I just want to get flying again! (Sorry if anything i said doesnt make sense)

Hey Joe.........................
Yeah, I can only offer my experience. I too started of with "RTF" quads. A JJRC V686g and a family of Syma X8s. I got tired of the limits on what I could modify on a proprietary system. So I bought a kit and built one from scratch. The problem you're facing with "all in one" configurations is kinda part and parcel of the small racing quads. You could, if you're so inclined, get another frame and Flight Controller(all in one) and de-solder the components you want to re-use and set them up on the new frame/FC. As for which FC.............my suggestion would be to look at some different ones and see which would suit your build and your skill level. Then once you've decided, get the software for programming your FC and go thru it and learn what the acronyms and abbreviations stand for.............it's a steep learning curve, but well worth the effort.

Seriously pro F3, fcb & pocket rocket 20amp esc. You can't go wrong. Don't let the size fool you they are tiny but I had the same esc's for a year. Non broken either, £7 each. Just as good as the little bee 20A. But small enough for a 130 frame. And run my emax 2205's great.
