I have this Bug 3 that I would Like to Increase the range a bit. To give me better odds to not losing another bug to the woods. I live in a wooded area and only have 1/4 size of a football field to play in. Low to the ground. So I'm usually fling over the trees. And the worst problem I've had was letting the Bug 3 get a bit to far away from me and not being able to turn it around. I don't need much more increase in distance If I can get 500 meters out of it I would be happy. I watched a few Youtube videos and I'm trying the Custom 3dbi antenna mod installed on the transmitter.
I have also done the batt mode as you can see.
I also have done some other mods to the receiver and the transmitter that has proved a bit successful for me the past.
But I want to try and increase the Bugs ability to receive signals from the transmitter by also adding an antenna mod. I have another 2.4GHz 3dbi antenna I can use or a 5.4GHz omnidirectional antenna witch was originally meant for a FPV receiver antenna. I really don't know anything about the nature of signals and am not sure if using the omnidirectional antenna is even possible and might damage something. So I'm coming to yall for advice. Which Antenna should I use or should I purchase a different kind of antenna.
And what suggestions on where I should mount it as well. Just some examples I don't know which way would be best at receiving signals from my transmitter.
