Need Help Troubleshooting

I am building a quadcopter and I am having a bit of difficulty. Everything appears to be hooked up correctly and the controller and the receiver are linked. Also when I connect the battery, each of the motors beep and turn a bit. The one problem is that the thing will not fly. No matter what I do on the controller, the motors simply beep and turn. I feel as though I am missing something but I cannot figure out what it is. The only thing I can possibly think of is that I have the wrong controller. Any help would be appreciated. Here is the control board, controller, and receiver:

Have you armed the board?

Also - a good trip for ruling things out is to disconnect the board from the receiver and connect one of the ESC's directly to the receiver. Turn everything on and apply throttle. If that motor moves, you are likely are doing something wrong with the board. If it doesn't, it could be a tx/rx setting problem. If you haven't armed the board though, definitely figure out the arming sequence and do that. Also - make sure you do all of this testing with the props off.

So I armed the board and the motors began to work. The problem now though is that only two of them are working. The rest still beep and rotate slightly, although it is twice as fast as before. This leads me to believe it is a problem with the controller because it only comes with a setting for a plane and one for a helicopter.

It was a problem with the ESCs. For some reason two of them did not calibrate correctly and once I did it worked fine. Thanks so much for your help!
