Unfortunately, my Syma X8g drone went into the water while running the camera on video, and after drying everything out overnight, the camera doesn't seem to work. Drone was fully submerged for 3-5 minutes while the power to the drone was on but the transmitter was turned off. When I reached the drone, the lights were still on but I didn't try any powering up or anything until the next day after it had dried for several hours.
I was able to watch what I had videoed for the first 5 minute segment but the 2nd section of video won't play-I think it was during this 2nd 5 minute section that the drone sank in the water!!! Sigh!
Nothing happens when I select the video or when I try taking a picture. All I see on the camera when it's plugged into the drone and the power for the drone and transmitter is turned on, is a constant red light.
When I press down on the video button on the transmitter to activate the camera for a video, I hear 2 quick beeps but the red light doesn't change, it stays constantly red.
The same thing happens if I press down on the video button again, like I am shutting it off-red light stays on constantly.
If I press up on the photo/video button on the transmitter to take a picture, I hear 1 beep but the red light stays on constantly.
The red light on the camera does go out when I turn off the drone.
The drone flies just fine, everything that is suppose to work while the drone is flying works OK, it's just the camera that doesn't work. It's getting power though because of the constant red light.
Is there any way to troubleshoot this camera when it's NOT connected to the drones power supply? I'm not sure if the camera is the problem, or if the power cord that goes from the camera to the drone is the problem, or if the circuit board inside the drone is the problem.
I'd like some suggestions on what might be the problem or ideas on how to troubleshoot the problem.
I don't have any spare parts to test with.
