hello, im new here and ive been dying to get a quad copter fpv of my own. I honestly don't know much about what its gonna take to fly. well I figured id start with a ZMR 250 v2 body with a PDB and leds. I really want the MXP230 Elite body but maybe another day.

im gonna over the course of paydays every couple weeks im gonna buy parts. I know some of the parts needed and some I dont. id like to have your help in understanding the basics of building one, which parts I need and what they are for, and can all the parts run together. im mostly looking for speed, good maneuverability, LONG range for the quad and the fpv gear. oh and ill be using 3S batteries, but maybe go to 4S. Props i will get, 5040's but i will get 6 in props if i buy the mxp230 someday

okay lets get started.
for the esc im planning on getting 12A BLHeli racing series, should be good for Xhover XH2204-2300kv Racing Series motor. there is a 25A esc, whats that for?

okay for the flight controller I need your advise, im thinking imam get a cc3d compared to the naze32.
well first, whats the difference? do they affect flying any?

lets see, I believe I need a receiver next. im gonna get frsky, i really want to get long range of flying.
am i gonna need a clover antenna or mushroom antenna? ive seen big clover antennas and im not liking that as an option. but yea any recievers in mindi should consider? im gonna get the taranis X9d radio. what are modules, servos and telemetry sensors? i have a feeling its for gps.

okay i dont know if i missed anything for getting it to fly. as for FPV gear and stuff, its gonna take me a while to get around to it. but i would like a very good idea of good quality video, long range, and i want fatshark goggles. i want the emersion effect and it would be wonderful to have DVR capabilities. i will wait even longer for a go pro oror Mobius camera, way to much money. please include anything that will help me understand and if i missed anything.thank you!!

"LONG" range to us usually means around 5 miles hahaha, so about how much range do you want and what is your budget? For a mini quad about 2000-3000 feet is usually more than you will need (go on google maps and check out how big an area that is).

Motors are good
25a ESC is good, though it may be a hair big for you (will work, but be heavier) can you post some links to the parts you are getting? Mainly the motor and battery.
The 12A BLHeli racing series are ESCs, they sound like the right size, but I'd need to check your motor to say for sure.
Great radio, but at that price I'd suggest spektrum as they are a lot more upgradable. if you wanted you could upgrade to 433mHz for some real long range. The bigger antennas you looked at are probably not for 5.8gHz, sound like skew planar for an LRS.

Wow didn't realize batteries will matter a whole deal. Potential damage if you don't think it through with power draw and even proper storage and charging. With what I've listed I hope its enough to judge what battery I should get. I had in mind to test the amps and currents of the whole model to get a better idea of what battery.
I'm no good with mah, current and amps terminology. I get it but don't know my stuff. I'm gonna have to do more research. What would you recommend?. Xhover.com, I'm literally going by parts recommended for the mxp230 rtf model.
