Motor rotation

I was just wondering if it holds true that all three wires from the motor connecting straight with the three from the esc will spin ccw, and with one crossed it will spin cw? Or does it for some reason depend on the brand of motor?

Knowing this will make it much easier to build arms using motors with self tightening prop nuts

I always connect, and then switch one if the rotation is incorrect. I know all of my dji motors were wired exactly the same, but they could differ from brand to brand.

won't have to get the servo tester out to test each motor. With motors without self tightening nuts, just build two arms with straight wires, two arms with crossed wires and all you have to do is figure out which way one spins and you're good.

With self tightening, the motors will have a designated way that they need to spin in order to keep the nuts tight, if I know the way each wire setup will spin then I can just build arms with no worry, because I know that the ccw self tightening nut will take straight wiring etc.

I suppose I can just test it myself when I get out of work, was just wondering if anyone was aware of some sort of industry standard.
