motor and prop selection

I understood it as the voltage per cell, when I don't do custom battery it automatically enters 3.7, I'll try it with 14.8 value n see what happens, on another note, I'm glad I procrastinated on those Tigermotors, I was checking out the charts on the Cobra CM2217-20 950kv motors, I'm pretty sure they'll work with my set up and they produce awesome thrust with the props I have, might go with 9 x 4.7 GemFans which rip even more, I'll update either way on that 14.8 cell value n let folks know if it worked

hey everyone! Thanks to all that helped me with your experience and advice, I became concerned that the cobra motors weren't going to be able to handle the power I'm planning on putting to them, I had ordered the Cobra C-2217/20 960Kv, and thought maybe I should switch to the C-2814/20 850Kv, they cost a little more than the 960's but worth it to me if they give the snort I want out of them, while cruising their site (www.innov8tivedesigns.com) I noticed a customer service number so I called, as soon as I explained that I may have ordered the wrong motors I was passed off to someone else (I thought, great, here we go, I'm going to talk to six different people and still not know if I'm getting the right motors) THIS WAS NOT THE CASE! I had the extreme pleasure of talking to Lucien Miller, please remember that name, he is by far the most experienced and educated person I have dealt with in quadcopter set up since I started this hobby, he has 2 degrees in applicable fields, designed the motors they distribute, and is a licensed pilot, anyone who talks to him will know in seconds that this guy is THE guy to deal with in our hobby, in the end I found out I had ordered the perfect motor for my build, ultimately, the proof will be in the pudding, when I get the motors and complete my build I'll know for sure, however, for right now I would highly recommend this company, their products, and the consulting expertise offered by Lucien, I'm still waiting on my diversity receiver FPV set up to arrive, other than that and the motors I'm all set to start the build process, I'm sure I'll have plenty of hurdles to overcome, and I look forward to throwing more questions out to this forum about setting up my APM2.8 and all the associated components, I have never had so much fun in my life as with this hobby, fly high and fly fast, Thanks again to everyone

I just ordered a 450 frame myself.... I have not built anything in a while, but I got the itch after this thread. I will have to start a build thread :)

Please share as u build, I'm totally stoked about those Cobra motors, I can hardly wait to get it all put together, innov8tivedesigns has some awesome charts, if they perform as the data says my quad will rip the air up, I know I'm gonna need help with setting up that APM flight controller, if u know of anyone with experience with Ardupilot send them to the forum so I can pick their brain, thanks again for all the advice, it was helpful, hope your next build gives u that rush we all do this for

I will start a new thread once my equipment starts to arrive, and post pics, but here is what I have ordered so far. It will be capable of a 3s or 4s battery, but I will know which one I like most once I get it built.

Quanum xj470
Castle 25 quadpack
T-Motor MT2216 1100kv
Gaupner 10x5 props

I will be installing my Tarot zyx-m on this one.

Are you going to start a build thread too?
