OK. I have an HGLRC F3 V4PRO flight controller, a Frsky X4R 3/16ch receiver, and a Taranis X7 xmitter. Cleanflight configurator seed the FC fine, but no want I can the Rx to talk to the FC. I'm using the SB port with the right pins/polarity, and hooked the signal wire to the F3 SIN pin for SBus. Rx powers up and is bound to the X7.

Maybe I'm not configuring the FC correctly. The interface and docs are a little less than stellar. Can someone give me a pointer to help me find out what boneheaded thing I'm doing wrong?
 
I actually found it after many hours... you have to use UART3 for the serial port, and make sure you have sbus as the type. That was a little rougher than it should have been...
 
Sbus on some board needs an inverter.
Sorry I never got hear in time, but this is very basic. It's in the pdf for the board.
 
Just type name of the board and Pdf on the end. If the pin says sbus your good to go in most cases if not, a uart like you sussed out. ;)
