What do you all like to eat and drink when you go to a Restaurant?

If we go to an Italian restaurant, I'll order Ravioli or Lasagna.

At a Mexican restaurant, I'll order an Enchilada dinner.

At a Steak House, I'll order a Seafood dish or Country Fried Steak, or a rack of Baby Back BBQ Ribs.

At a Seafood restaurant, I'll order a Seafood dish.

I'll order a beer with all the above, but when dining at home, I'll mix a couple Rum & Cokes.

I love Indian and Mexican foods! Or generally said, i loved spicy food, when i feel hot and spicy, then i consume cold drink.. it feel great for me to enjoy it

I eat all the foods, but like Droner, I'm partial to the spicier ones.
When I drank, I would drink all the porters and stouts, maybe the odd red wine.

Like many of you (probably) I hadn't heard of "sous vide" before Spork Junior asked for one for Christmas - it's essentially low-temperature cooking in a water bath - food in a bag.

Previously he tried poaching eggs, interesting but not very different than regular poached eggs.
Last night he grabbed a brisket while picking up a few things at the store and started the thing up.
That brisket's been tempting me cooking quietly on the counter for 20+ hours.

Tonight we were treated to sous vide prepared brisket tacos - with all the fixings. :)

This was the best brisket I've ever eaten - hands down - and that's saying a lot after eating my mother-in-laws version for many years not to mention all the great BBQ we have here in Texas. Sadly, there's none left as he only cooked half the brisket for fear of messing it up. Guess what Junior's doing when he gets home tonight :D

I think I'll be sending him to the store again tomorrow to see what he can do with other cuts of meat.

Apparently he also made creme brule - but I'm not allowed to touch it until Spork Jr gets home from work.

PS - I know this wasn't about restaurant food, but I'll bet you want brisket tacos now.

What do you all like to eat and drink when you go to a Restaurant?

India: Buffet but I particularly like the creamed spinach and tofu they make
Asian: Chicken Black Bean, Chicken or shrimp with garlic sauce, any shrimp based if a buffet.
American: Omelets: Western or Cincy Cheese Steak (if goetta is available)
BBQ: No can do, the wifey is allergic to MSG and we have not found any place that does not use it.
Steakhouse: Tofu cooked on the same grill as steak.......just kidding! Steak! (reference from the movie Midnight Meat Train)
Cincinnati: Skyline Cincinnati chili
Drink: Water or unsweet tea or Angry Orchard hard cider

Picture man! Pictures!

Next time for sure, he didn't feel like cooking more brisket. He was like "imagine how good filet would be". I said "let's get some more practice on brisket and chicken first".

The creme brule was as bad as the brisket was good. Flavor was there, but consistency-wise more like sweet milk than custard. He made another batch with a different recipe so I won't get to try it until later today. Dude can seriously cook - so I'm sure the second batch will be awesome. I'm always encouraging him to go to cooking school, but I think he's afraid it will "ruin the fun" for his only hobby - which I can understand.
