Let's Talk Gimbals

DJI is simple one dial control. Setups can get much more complicated. On my Tarot 650, GoPro is connected to the gimbal by USB and gimbal is connected to receiver by sBus. So I have 2 pots on my transmitter assigned to control gimbal tilt and pan, 1 switch to control gimbal mode (FPV and normal), 1 switch to turn GoPro on and off and one to switch between capture and video Yeehaw

Yours is moving in 3 axes. You just can't control its movement manually in the yaw axis.
Using that logic, one could totally eliminate the gimbal, weld the camera to a horizontal bar that runs between the two landing struts, and advertise it as a "3-axis camera" because it follows whatever movement the quad makes. Quad tilts up - so does the camera. Quad yaws to the right - so does the camera. Quad dives straight at the ground - so does the camera.
I realize that the gimbal does much more than just moving the camera around, but taking that issue out of the equation, you see what I'm saying, hey?

You can't change gimbals.
There are a million gimbals for sale online. You mean to say I can't buy one of them and replace the one on my present quad? What are all those individually-sold gimbals for - only people who are building a quad from the ground up?

I think the primary purpose of a gimbal is to stabilize the camera. Aside from tilt adjustments, the quad moves the camera. After the tilt adjustment is made, the gimbal stabilizes the camera as the quad rocks fore & aft.

One question I have, How do you control the gimbol's movement while operating the quad from the controller? It would seem impossible unless you have a third control on the controller just for the gimbol.
Dials man, we got dials. VRA+VRB :D
Anyone got a spare channel, a servo & a small length of wire. Lol I played fallout
& have the juryrig perk.
