Landing gear fix for Galaxy Visitor 3

This is my first quad. Everything is holding up fine except the landing gear. Now that I actually know how to fly it, I'm sure it will hold up better regardless of what I do

my options are

1) buy a new one for $8 shipped (that may break again)
2) Make a custom one out of aluminum (suggest other materials if you have an idea :) )
3) Take the landing gear off and put an extension off under the motors:

for option 3, does this sound like a safe idea? I'm just worried if it hits too hard there, if it would break one of the arms off.

Thanks in advance :)

Figured out a good fix for this.

I bought a blade helicopter landing gear skid ( EFLH1502 ) and drilled it to fit my Galaxy Visitor 3

This is MUCH stronger than the stock landing gear :)
