KK2.1.5 Aux channel issue

Hi,
I have a SK450 with Turnigy 5x controller and have a strange problem relating to the aux ch (ch 5). This is being used to turn on/off the self level. Self level is set in the KK2 to AUX.

My problem is that I can not bind when CH5 is plugged in. Unplug the wire and it binds right up when you plug in. I also do not get a green light on the receiver with CH5 plugged in - nothing at all solid or blinking. If I plug in CH5 AFTER binding - it works as it is supposed to with the switch turning on/off self leveling.

I have been thru the Stevis Manual (I have Stevis 1.8S1PRO for firmware) and have tried every setting that I think might apply but I still have to have CH5 unplugged to bind. I even purchased another receiver thinking it might be the problem and the new one does the same thing.

Any input on this would be welcome. I have no problem imagining that I have a setting wrong as I am still learning on this thing - I would like to know what the setting might be?

Thanks!
Doug

Hi mate when you try to bind are having the self level turned off ? does this make and change to binding ?

Thanks for your response. I mean bind - it will not even flash the light on the receiver when Ch5 is plugged in. Unplug one end of the CH5 cable and it binds fine, and I can plug it back in after that and it functions properly. I have been activating self-level by stick but that limits you to only when you arm it. I was wanting to be able to switch between during flight to explore the difference. Part of my learning curve (what I call damaging propellers).

I was hoping to go out and break a few more this morning but too windy for me. I would not be able to tell if it was wandering from my lousy input or from the wind. I just got some new props to test too - This think came with 8045 and 1045 props and I just got some 9x4.7 props which seem really smooth running. Might be a better balance for my copter, although I really liked it with the 10x4.5 props too....

How long can I leave LiPros fully charged? I just charged all 4 of mine up to fly this morning but it looks like I have to pass. Can I leave them charged for a week or should I do the storage charge?

Thanks!

HI mate lipo are ok for a week but if over that need to be on a store charge of 3.7v a cell , as for the kk problem its strange what transmitter do you have is channel 5 linked to the throttle as this will stop the esc from arming ,Test by powering the kk off a spare ESCs Bec if it bind this time then the ESC on motor one is not set up right the fail safe is looking for zero throttle

The TX is a Turnigy 5X - what came with the SK450 from HK. For now - I can live with unplugging one wire to bind and then plugging it back in after. I really liked the 9" props - smooth like the 8 but more responsive and easier to hover. Went to fly anyway but had a hard landing and got stuff to fix... The plastic standoffs broke that hold the flight controller mounting plate... I need to find a good way to orient when I am 75 yards out or more - The yellow ball and different colored props are not quite enough on a bright day. Keeping orientation is one of my hardest problems.

TX and RX problem is temporary - I got a 9X-pro from HK during their sale and have a module and 2 rx in transit. I think this will be a better unit and one I will not outgrow...

One other thing - on my right stick (mode 2) L/R - my trim is all the way right and I am still not zeroed out on the KK2 display, and I have drift in that direction. Is this adjustable inside the receiver? I am out of adjustment to correct this further.

Thanks!
Doug

Thanks - great video. Hits right at where I am. New stuff to practice. I think FPV will help with this too but I don't feel confident enough in my flying yet to mount all the gear. I think I would just break it too quick right now.....
