KK 2.1.5 Board ***HELP***

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could give me some advice.

I am currently in the middle of building my SK450 quadcopter and am currently checking all the motors / ESC's and KK2 board are working before I go about fixing it together properly with loctite where appropriate.

All seems to be connected and working...sort of....

The ESC's have green lights on them , so I assume power is getting to them ok. When I put the battery in, the KK2 board jumps to life with no errors on the screen. The TX and RX have been binded and seem to be working. When I go into the receiver test on the KK2 board, it shows the movement on the sticks, although a couple of the channels/servos are the wrong way round and will need to be reversed, one of them being the rudder.

I have purchased the HK -T6A V2 TX and RX, which does not allow me to reverse the channels without the appropriate USB cable, which I have order and am waiting for.

I have tried to arm the KK2 board, to see if I can check the motors are fully working, as, stated above I was then going to fit the quad together then. But I cannot arm the KK2.

Can anyone clarify:

1. Is the reason I cannot arm my KK2 because the channel is the wrong way round and needs reversing? I have tired to put the throttle stick down and to the left as well, (as this is opposite) but this still does not work.

2. Is there a way of overriding the above feature to see if the motors are working?

3. Is there anyway on the KK2 board to reverse the channels? Or will I have to wait for my USB cable to arrive?

4. The only thing I was not sure of when connecting the servo leads was the channel numbers on the RX? I assume they are:

Channel1: AIL
Channel2: ELE
Channel3: THR
Channel4: RUDD
Channel5: AUX

I have been able to do the calibration on the ESC's which seemed to work ok.

Thanks.

hi mate,

1) yes, if your yaw is reversed, you'd have to go down and left to arm, down and right to disarm. If you've got no errors and it's still not arming, maybe your throttle trim is wrong and doesn't get to zero - in the receiver test, with throttle at the bottom, it should show 0 and 'idle'. Make sure the yaw is trimmed too so it's 0 in the middle and you get full throw either way.

2) hmm. You *could* connect the ESC signal wires straight into the receiver and then the tx would drive the ESC/motors directly, but I'm not sure I'd want to do that myself, fair chance of frying stuff I reckon.

3) yes, in the Stick Scaling menu - "If you set the value to a negative value, it will reverse the transmitter channel. This is to enable the use of transmitters that don’t allow you to change the direction for a channel. It only works for roll, pitch and yaw.", so just try putting in the negatives of the numbers that are in there at the moment

4) that's right

Cheers

Many thanks for your help, that all makes sense. Cheers. I'll have a play around with that later. FYI, my throttle was at 3, not idle so that would explain that.

1. Managed to get the quad armed and motors are moving so thank you.

3. Can't get the channels reversed. I've been into stick scaling, but it does not allow me to put in a negative value? Would it be under mixer settings?

Hi mate your better off reversing in the transmitter , also when in the monitor screen all need to read zero ( not aux this will never zero so leave it)
but throttle, rudder, alie ,elev, need to be at zero , then calibrate the sensors the quad needs to be 100% level as this will set the self level too
this video may help its for the kk2.0 but they have basic set up the same

Thanks for that. The videos are excellent, cheers.

I know I need to reverse in the transmitter. But can't at the moment until I get the USB cable from Hobbyking as It can't be done on the transmitter directly. Its ordered, so just have to wait for it.

I was just wondering if it could be done on the kk2 in the meantime?

Hi the problem is the FCBs not just the KK use a code of plus and minus as left and right , so if you change the wrong part of the code its all going to fail and your have to factory reset , the transmitter is set as a basic aeroplane

Yes set as basic aeroplane, not worries, I'll wait for the lead. Its in stock in HK, but coming to UK from their international warehouse. So not sure how long it will take.

I will look over the week end , I wish I knew before you could have a transmitter and receiver Pc software etc I have a few spare ones (Basic 6 channel)

Hi I had a quick look my wife think she got rid of that box with all the transmitters and receiver in it , Not Happy , I just read up on this lead it has a chip set built in which mine dont have , sorry I gave you bum info
