Joystick Control Axes - What Does What?

My transmitter has two joysticks - one left and one right. Each of those joysticks moves L/R as well as Up/Down. That means I can do eight different control movements with my two joysticks, four with the right one and four with the left one.Sad to say, my instruction manual is written in Amerchinese, if you get my drift, and does not offer much instruction on these rather important features of the joysticks.

I have determined (I think) that L/R on the left joystick controls Fwd/Backwd for my quad, while L/R on the right joystick controls Up/Down for the quad.

First of all, are these directional controls standard for all quad transmitters? If so, do I have at least this much of it correct?

Secondly, what about the other directional controls, i.e., Up/Down for each of the two joysticks? What do those axes control?

Here's a link to my quad: http://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopters/pp_581314.html

You already bought this quad without even knowing about controlling it? >:O

Don't know where you are from, but it depends on the Mode of your transmitter. Most people fly with Mode 2, some with Mode 1 (and a few with Mode 3 or 4).
Has this drone Altitude hold? (means when take off the drone keeps his altitude, the throttle stick stays in the middle position). If not, one of your sticks can be moved up and down in fixed position.

Best to do is to read about your drone on the internet yourself. Much chance your controlls are:

Left stick:
Up/Down = throttle
Left/right = yaw

Right stick:
Up/Down = Pitch
left/Right = roll

More I can not tell, you should test it out, carefully.

Since my first post, I went back to the manual and was able to figure out what's what with the left and right joysticks. And, yes, I bought this drone (for $98) without knowing ANYTHING about it or about quad flying. I figured I would learn as I went and it looks like that's what I am doing. But thanks for the advice.

Hey I bought a toy quad got 2hrs out of it. If that. Was unfixable so I bit the bullet & built my own 250 size beast I learned to fly on. It can be done just be careful.
