Is there reasonable tech advelable to build or buy a bunker controled drone?

So I dont know squat about drones. I am a ham licensed operator and understand radio infrequences, cutting antennas for such and all types of electronic and function.

I want to pilot from inside my house (no physical sight of drone) and have complete control and video feed. Maybe a second video feed from a thermal camera. Computer required or assessed is fine. Small size portability not needed (can be large). I need to stay south of $2k

School me, guide me, links please. I dont mind building but also any hobbyist built drone close to what I want that can be modified? New DJI Mavic?

Hi there are many quads that fly way points you can combine this with long range fpv so you can see what is going on with the flight
I think the new phantoms do way points but I am sure there lots more that will too
If you was to build your own then I would may be look at the spreading wings multirotor which are also DJI made
If you loose a motor on a quad it will crash a hex will not as it can fly with 2 motors down . But what ever I did I would fit a tracker unit so it can be found if it does get lost
One last thing as there are so many new rules and regulations out you may not be able to fly out of the line of sight so I would check this first
