Please forgive me if this is not where I am supposed to post this... But I am eager

Whats up my names Ryan... I've developed a taste for FPV drone racing and I would like to get into the hobby rather than just watching it... Now I know you don't just go and buy a ready to race drone without knowing how to fly it first, so my question is...

What would be a good FPV beginner drone or drone kit for someone with zero experience... I catch on quickly but I don't want to waste money and buy something thats to much machine...

Ive seen the "Inductrix" and the "Eachine E010" but they look so cheap and im seeing they break a lot... What brands do I stay away from? What Kinda transmitters should I look at? pretty much what do I need to get started and learn to fly... is it better to build one? if so what do I need...

Just looking for help and suggestions on how and where to start its a little overwhelming for me right now.. And yes I do have a budget but its flexible if the drone is right

My goal is to get into FPV racing and possibly freestyle as well... Thank you so much for the help, I cant wait to start flying..

Hey Ryan, if that's the way you want to go, then start that way. Inexpensive quad with inexpensive transmitter and inexpensive goggles.

quad..................http://www.ebay.com/itm/Eachine-Tin...685026?hash=item3f7dc028e2:g:fH0AAOSwjL5ZG87u

transmitter....................http://www.ebay.com/itm/Flysky-FS-i...946029&hash=item33b9d4f092:g:rQkAAOSwJQdXAlBC

goggles.....................http://www.ebay.com/itm/Eachine-VR-...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

The QX90 is a single board FC/Rx/Brushed ESCs/PDB and has a 5.8ghz FPV camera and transmitter. The Rx is Flysky hence the Flysky FS i6 transmitter. Also, the i6 is upgradeable to 10 channel for future expansion/upgrades. I have both of these though I don't do hardly anything with the QX90 but it will zip around pretty damned good.

The goggles are on my list.............mostly because of the low cost, adjustability and Video recording of vids from my FPV camera/Tx.

All of this is available other places then eBay.............it's just where I do 99% of my hobby buying.............

Hey Ryan, that stuff I posted as recommendations have many, many counterparts. It's just what I started with, but then went in a different direction then "Racer".

Thanks a lot for your help... Ive been looking at a lot of different rigs to start with... Right now Im looking at the Blade Torent 110 and the Hubsan X4 as a starter... the Torrent 110 feels like I can grow with it from beginner to novice.. And the Hudsan X4 seems like a nice cheap starter... Any other suggestions are welcome.. And again thanx so much for the help

Hey Ryan, all my other drone stuff(except in house practice mini drones) are Aerial Photography Platforms. Everything that "racers" abhor......self leveling and altitude control and even autonomous missions. My son got me started with that QX90 but I quickly went to a JJ/RC v686g. For a first quad I would not recommend anything that you can't bear to trash.........because you are gonna trash it. It's just part of the process, so to speak. I think that first quad cost me $56. Rebuilt and repaired a number of times and currently resides in a place of honor in 5 pieces in my "archive" drawer in my tool box...........

but they look so cheap and im seeing they break a lot

Better than they are expensive and they break a lot ... lmao ... the fact is ANYTHING you learn to fly with IS going to break a lot. ;)

As a beginner my suggestion is to first gain some proficiency for the needed skills by using a simulator !!!

You can make tragic errors all day without ANY expense what so ever. In the virtual world, flying full speed into that tree results
in nothing more than hitting the reset button ... no broken props, frames, cameras, antennas .... nada ... zero damage= zero cost.
"FPV Freerider" is a popular (and it's FREE) simulator that will do well to get you started. After you're zipping around with that I'd suggest
the simulator called "Liftoff", it's not free but it has the most realistic physics of any other simms I've seen out there (you can even learn
how to test and tune PIDs) and will give you real world experience flying quads before you ever even hafta buy a real one. :)

At this point you're probably thinking "Yeah, but it's not REAL" ... Believe me, it's as good (if not better) than real, because once you've strapped
on those goggles and become immersed in the experience it's more than as real as it needs to be ! You will develop your "muscle memory" because
you fly with your actual transmitter you control real quads with, there's no concern about weather or wind, there's no waiting for batteries to charge,
as a matter of fact you can get in more flying time in a single day than you probably would in a whole week of flying a real quad. You will also be
LEARNING ON RACING QUADS and once you can fly those bad boys without smacking into stuff there's no need at all to mess around with cheap toys.

Toys come with their own proprietary toy transmitters ... crude and mostly crud stuff. Save up and buy a good quality transmitter like the Taranis X9D+. I'm a huge fan of the Taranis ... You can spend some considerable time just playing with that, learning how to make it talk to you about whatever is going
on at the time, changing sounds and voices (yes it actually talks to you about settings, signal strengths, battery voltages, etc) and get some good goggles (FatSharks ain't all that btw) before you spend money on ANYTHING else (and you'll thank me later). Get good first using sims, then jump right into it
with a REAL QUAD (I'm talking about your very first quad being a Ferrari, not some toy) and don't waste your time messing around with cheap stuff that
you'll outgrow soon enough anyway.

That's just my "two cents", but I've been flying RC since the 70's so, with inflation, that's some money you can take to the bank. :p

Wow I had no idea there was a simulator I could get... That sounds like a great platform to start... Thanks so much Im gonna go and try to find one right now... Your a life saver thanx so much
