I need your help guys. I have a quad with these specs and i burned out my pdb. What do you think caused this? Was wondering if the 4000 mah 10c battery has a high enough current to power this setup or do i need a batt with a higher c rating. I was wondering if I should/could switch to a 3200mah 20c or 25C. I have no idea how to find out the ampage my quad pulls and I'm really struggling with the electric side of this hobby. Any help you could give me would be much appreciated:

Sounds like a short. Can you give a few pictures of the damage? And perhaps a description of the events leading up to it?

What size quad you got? 2204 2300kv and 5030 props usually goes on a ~250 mm and way too small for a 4000mAh battery. With that combo you are probably pulling <9A when fully charged, and maybe about 440 grams of thrust out the gate. You need a lighter battery.

The quad is a 270. I was thinking about getting these for racing MultiStar Race Spec 3S 1400mAh 40-80C Multi-Rotor Lipo Pack For FPV Minis but not sure if they have a high enough C rating but I was using the 4000mah 10C 3S batts for taking videos because of the long flight time. Just want to make sure that I can safely use the Multistar 4000mah 10c 3S batts without damaging the quad even though I know it makes it slower?

Not a good idea, pulling more on your motors and RSCs. You risk burning something up that will cost you more than a battery. I have a multistar 1400mAh and a Tatu 1550. I suggest you get the Tatu for that quad just because multistar may over rate some of their batteries. This makes them sag on lower voltage. You may get longer flight time on the multistar 1400maH though if you aren't doing too much hard flying just because it is lighter.
