Hello everyone, for those of you who have seen some of my previous posts about the challenge of getting FAA approval for flying a drone, my wait is over. I have finally got a COA from the FAA and I am cleared to start using one of my drones to help in search and rescue missions for my department. The one I have certified right now is my JasGad M6. I have it listed on my website, www.longrangerc.com if anyone cares to take a look.

I will tell you guys that the process is time consuming and it takes a lot of patience. What makes it hard is writing policies for flight issues and trying to do it with no other ones available to look at. Another thing is because I built my own unit, it had to be approved as well. It is almost the same as building your own plane, lol. All I have to say is WOW and don't try to get one unless you are really serious about it. My process from build of the multi-rotor to my final approval has been almost one year.

Well done, I think the red tape factor is insane but it is what it is. Good luck with your piloting mate.
 
Cudos to you Jason.
After my Build of a ZeroUAV Gemini and getting it to fly is a nightmare.
The Chinese want to sell them but they don't want Support their product.
