I will be using my sp906 pro 2 while sailing on a boat. RTH is not an option as the boat will be moving. So I will be catching it. I tried to do it on dry land but then realized I didn't know how to kill the motors. When I pressed the power button the, with the video still running, it corrupted the video. I know, stop the video first, but is there a real way to stop the motors?

I don't have a SG906 Pro 2.
Just something I could do on some of my toy drones....... On landing my drone, I would catch it with my hand, turn the drone upside down, and that would kill the motors.
Not sure if that will work for you.
Even if that will shut down the motors, not sure if it will not corrupt your video file.
