How to build my own quadcopter ! Need Help !

Hello,

I am a college student. And for a couple of days I have been researching about quadcopters. Now I am really willing to build my own QuadCopter and Upgrade it further to other possibilities. I want to build a QuadCopter with varieties of functions in it. All the functions must be configurable. I want the quadcopter to run at a super speed. Which can be used in racing. And I want to build the quadcopter with a medium size. But I want super speed motors in the quadcopter. Secondly I want the quadcopter to thrust very high upto 300M above ground. Then thirdly I want the quadcopter to be very light so that it can lift a dslr camera which is around with all my other equipments. So in total I want the copter to lift up 3KG of weight. Next I want the copter to have FPV and GPS. I want the copter to be very smart. I want to integrate the auto pilot system to the copter using GPS system and also the using the GPS I need to able to trace the copter's location. I want the copter to be controlled by my laptop along with a controller. Next the wireless system. I want the wireless system to work upto 5KM distance. And also some other features on the copter like auto return back to home. Link auto land to the position of take off safely. Auto land on a near place when battery is low and the transmitter or controller is turned off. Auto turn on the copter when I through it above the ground from a height. And mainly I want the battery power to last a lot longer. I want almost 1 hour flight time along with FPV and GPS systems. And I want the flight controller to be very smart and configurable through my edited softwares and using softwares will expand the functionality more.


And I want the FPV system very accurate. Oh and the FPV System needs to broadcast both audio and video. I mean the real time video needs to be broadcasted. And I need to be able to catch the broadcasted video on my laptop and also in the controller or a seperate screen glass. And as I will expand the controllers functionality more I want the controller to be something expandable. And the controller must be very smart which will tell me all the informations such as the altitude. The distance between the copter and the transmitter. The GPS positions etc. and stuff.


Now the help I need here is I want all the specs which I will require to build this type of copter. I will assemble them on my own but I need a help from the people in this forum about what equipment I will need to build this type of copter. And further suggestions will be appreciated.
 
Sounds like you need two quads. The one carrying the DSLR and having the 5Km range, and GPS will be expensive. What type of price range are you going to have? I am guessing $2000 maybe less. If you did two the racing quad would be around $250. The problem is that if your going to carry a DSLR you are not going to be going fast, for speed you need a 250 class (250mm from motor to motor diagonally). Another thing is as a general rule you do NOT race a quad with a DSLR, because fast quads crass.... a lot. A big quad with a DSLR crashes it usually destroys about everything, if a 250 class crashes it may need a prop or two and maybe an arm.
 
Reminds me of doing business on Asia, they wanted the specifications down to every bolt and nut for a process that may not exist anywhere.

All this and a 1 hr flight time?? I want, I want, I want, don't we all

Though most people have a seperate camera to record with, I suggest the Runcam. It is cheaper than both the GoPro and Mobius, but perhaps a little better than the Mobius, the GoPro is great but not cheap.


I don't know what your platform will hold, so these are just general suggestions.
