How does my first build look?

Hey guys, I have recently gained an interest in building a quad from scratch. I started out and very quickly got directed to a 330mm size frame, so over time I have tried to educate myself about building and how things work. Any feedback and suggestions are much appreciated! Below are the parts I have picked out;

DJI F330 330mm frame
D2822/17 Brushless Outrunner 1100kv motors
Turnigy Multistar 20 Amp Multi-rotor Brushless ESC
KK2.0 flight controller
8x4.5 SF Props 4pc props
ZIPPY Compact 1800mAh 3S 25C battery
and just a hobby king power distribution board

So far the weight should be about 613g, and the price is at 173 nz dollars. I should also remind you that 170 is about all I want to spend (not including transmitter/reciever). Thanks in advance for help

Hi mate all looks good , the kk2 is now kk2.1 so get the new one if you can self level is better on new one and voltage alarm is a plug and play too , esc is ok i try and use simonk flashed escs i will put video link on for you to look at , a 2200 battery would be better for flight times i run the nanotech 45/90c use this link for ecalc this will help on props, motors, esc,battery etc http://www.ecalc.ch/xcoptercalc.htm?ecalc&lang=en
 
Thanks for that, man watching that video you can really see the difference beteen the esc. Just wondering, is there any way to flash simonk firmware onto the turnigy multistars and if not, would I gain flight time by upgrading to the simonk flashed esc? Do you think the Afro 20amp esc flashed with simonk firmware would be okay? I will eventually upgrade to multiple and better batteries, but for the moment I am on an extremely tight budget. I have taken your advice now changed the flight control to the kk2.1 seeing as it was only a few dollars more than the old kk2. I will have to look at that sight. Thanks for the help!

you can go with what you have and up grade as you can afford to use ecalc to play with spec to see what it does to flight time
i dont fly FPV but i do fly fast and hard my quad is 666mm and no light weight so i dont get long flight times but that does not worry me , later when i start FPV i will build a quad for that job so will have longer flight times
simonk flashed esc will make quad smooth and stable and motors react better to throttle inputs

Hey umm, one more question i think.. For the frame i am getting, I will need a power distribution board. I was wondering how to connect the board to my kk2.1? Below is a picture of the pdb and it has a 2 pin connecter, is that meant for connecting it to the flight board? I also noticed that the kk2.1 had 2 pin connectors all over? Cheers!

the kk2.1 is powered buy the esc off motor one so just plug lead from esc in to motor one pins and your be up and running beware the lead is the right way round on the board look at manual on HK site its the same as kk2.0 the pins on the pcb are so you can power lights etc on the quad
the pins on the left come from tx the ones on the right are motor esc there should be 8 sets of pins the bottom 6 are for flashing board the top ones will be for led battery alarm on the last video he powers it on the left pins i would check this kk are normally powered off motor one look under the board for conections he is powering it backwards this powers the receiver , so i would still power from motor one

Okay, so I think I get what you are saying. So once I have plugged all of the esc's male bullets into the power board, I then plug the 1st motor's esc middle pin connector into the 1st motor slot on the kk2 board? If that is correct, where is the kk2 getting powere from? Is sucking power that is allready in the esc's? Sorry if I am not understanding you, but I would really like to understand this correctly, thanks
 
the esc has a power system to give 5 volts out on an rc heli or plane this will power the receiver its called a BEC battery eliminator circuit so in our case it gives the 5 volts to power the kk2.1 this in turn powers the receiver so if you plug in motor one esc to pins for motor one and then plug in battery to pcb the kk will power up in safe mode , to arm it all wires need to be plugged in and transmitter on then you hold rudder to the right for 3 seconds and red led will come on and board will display armed
 
Just for future reference, do you think this setup would be able to support a f450 frame (Not sure if 10" props would be better than 8")?

Hi mate its close to a 450 set up i had and now its a 666mm quad the best way is to use ecalc put in your info some times to get it to work put weight inc drive as 1000kg this will give you flight times for different props etc it will also tell you if you need to up some thing like motors battery , esc etc
