Holystone HS700E

Had a lot of fun playing with Symas and UDIs but got tired of losing them in the wind. I realized the $ I'd put in these would have bought a 'real' unit.

saw a Holystone HS700E on Amzon for about $300. got one.

wow. what an upgrade.

POSITIVES: flies like a dream. automatically hovers. very responsive. powerful motors (I flew low and blew leaves off the ground!). nice long battery life.
RTH functions well. handles little wind well; haven't tried in *real* wind yet.

NEGATIVES: startup is quite a ritual with buttons to press and turning the unit in circles twice (awkward with the props).

I've tried two different chips and can't get a picture.

anyone getting into quads--I'd recommend a cheap starter (like a Syma) to develop flying skills; then move up to the Holystone. very nice unit.

I got the camera to work!!! happy happy
don't know if it needed a bigger chip or I wasn't pressing the button right.

has red and green running lights; they don't show up real well in the light. (minor issue)

the six hour battery charge bites. might have to find a way to do this at work.

instead of screwed on, the propellers are pushed and twisted on. I like this a lot better; just takes a moment and don't need tools. much easier to handle/transport.

loving this unit!:)

got a new adapcter and batteries charge much quicker
not sure how to stop the unit! I've been hovering close, grabbing, and pulling the battery! gotta be a better way.

On my Holy Stone (HS175D) if you pull back on the throttle stick slowly until touchdown, then pull the throttle stick all the way down and hold it there, the unit will shut down the rotors

took it out in the public land today. long walk. used two different chips, no pix. :(
did research. guy on Yutube said it needs 'class 10' type TF chip. went shopping and found a couple mid-price chips that said 'class 10'. set up the unit in the kitchen without props; pressed the button and saw the camera icon so it should be good.
did not see this anywhere in the Holy Stone info.

nice open space near the water. a bit of wind. unit moved more than usual but didn't drift away.
