Had a lot of fun playing with Symas and UDIs but got tired of losing them in the wind. I realized the $ I'd put in these would have bought a 'real' unit.
saw a Holystone HS700E on Amzon for about $300. got one.
wow. what an upgrade.
POSITIVES: flies like a dream. automatically hovers. very responsive. powerful motors (I flew low and blew leaves off the ground!). nice long battery life.
RTH functions well. handles little wind well; haven't tried in *real* wind yet.
NEGATIVES: startup is quite a ritual with buttons to press and turning the unit in circles twice (awkward with the props).
I've tried two different chips and can't get a picture.
anyone getting into quads--I'd recommend a cheap starter (like a Syma) to develop flying skills; then move up to the Holystone. very nice unit.
