Hello,

I just joined the forum and hope be able to discuss, gain and share info on the latest electronics and fight controls for UAV's.

Some background... I have been messing around for the last year trying to design a very light weight untraditional multirotor... quad and/or stacked quad, depending on thrust needed. The construction technics and materials, etc. are a bit unorthodox but my preliminary work shows that it will give me what I am trying for.

I have CAD all the pieces needed, cut a set on the CNC, adjusted the shape, etc. as needed and cut the new set.

My expertise is in the design and construction and not in the needed power systems, flight controls, auto pilot, programing, etc. It is these areas that I hope to gain knowledge in.

I purchased a T motor U7 V2 motor, 16x5.4 prop and an 80A flame esc. so will be designing for 4 0r 8 of these... one or two at each corner.

I also have a Futaba 10J S.BUS 2 , T-FHSS TX. that I would like to use.

I assembled the new design with the new CNC cut pieces and it fit together perfectly. I am currently installing the motors and ESC's.
Can anyone give me the name of a company that can supply me with more of a commercial oriented flight control system/auto pilot system than that of a hobby oriented one?

Conversely, I'm looking for someone who loves to build quad copters, in particular very large quad copters, but has no or not very much interest in flying them, or the skill or particular aptitude to do so.

Quad size doesn't matter, I can fly a bathtub if you hot glued wings onto it, but my interests are military or industrial in nature that could carry a weapons system, payload, or advanced surveillance equipment. Bleeding edge air superiority combat rotorcraft or aircraft of special particular interest.

Email me if you love to build, but hate to fly, or have no real piloting skills, but would love to see your creations tear a hole int he sky, or if you are involve din the military contracting process.

Hit me up with an email if you build big dangerous things and need a test pilot and only the best aerobatic rotorcraft pilot in the world will do.

Our facility is located in northern Illinois, about an hour SW of downtown Chicago.
The 33% size prototype has a Nasa N3 flight controller system with addl. components however we are looking for a more advanced flight/autopilot system for the full-size designs.

The MTOW of the first full size prototype is right around 300 lbs.
The Prototypes are advanced quadcopter and hexacopter designs.
Localized testing would be full electric in the beginning and move to hybrid/electric for the production models.

We need to work with or hire a knowledgeable person that can give us info on which advanced flight control/autopilot system and components that are best suited for our designs and would need to be able to set the system up and perform the needed operations to calibrate it, etc.

I went to college at Northwestern in Evanston north of Chicago.
Very chilly city in the winter, esp. right on the lake.

It's going to be hard to find someone with that knowledge on their CV, because most of the industry, even after 15 years, caters to a consumer / hobbiest base, which has an entirely different set of goals. I would suspect you wont' find someone that fits the bill right out of the box, and the first part of their box will just be deep researching what if anything is available out there in the industrial landscape. They may be just using spin offs from hobbiest flight controller open source projects.

I believe I may have found the auto pilot system we need for the first phase of testing and it looks like there is quite a bit of info on how to set it up, etc. At least for the scaled prototypes.
