Help with wizard x220 (motor or esc issues?)

Hi all! I have been flying quads for 4 years and recently got into fpv quads. I have a wizard x220 to start me off, pretty much stock other than a run cam micro swift 3, new Vtx and a buzzer. I'm getting the hang of acro now however I have now developed an issue with the wizard.

The issue started after a minor crash which I think happened after the quad cut out after a puch out.

The quad doesn't fly the same now. It will take off and hover perfectly however when I add a little throttle it wobbles and shakes. Once I go back to a basic hover its seems fine again. Also the wobble restricts the power.

Motors spin fine nothing seems obvious. Also I have calibrated the motors in beta flight without an issue. I have also checked all connections and they all seem fine too. And I have calibrated the accelerometer.

Basically I'm pulling my hair out as I can't find the problem. Help would be much appreciated

Hi sound like a vibration up setting the gyro , make sure none of the motors have a bent shaft even a tiny bend will mess it up

I had a similar problem re-flashed betaflight 4.1 and the problem went away. Worth a try and don't cost anything.

OK great, thanks for the reply! Motor seems fine upon spinning it. Ill flash the firmware tonight and see if that works. On a slight punch iv now noticed it dips on the front right motor fist and then wobbles.. Maybe the other motors counteracting?

I was thinking the gyro at first as well. The re-flashing may reset the gyro in the process, but there is also a stick command to do so. Left stick down & left, right stick down and center. A quick thing to try before going the firmware route.

Yeye I hopefully one of these will work, I'll try the stick commands first and then flas the firmware if that doesn't work. Thanks for info it means a lot

A buddy of mine had similar issue after 4 in 1 esc got a bit wet would still partially take off but one corner always dipping. Think basically some of the MOSFETs on their fried but others were still opening the gate to let enough power to flow to partially fly, we replaced ESC and FC at same time though cause was easier to do full stack and wasn't concerned about cost.

It's an og wizard with 20a single escs mate

Just flashed firmware, and will try at some point today.

Tried gryo stick command and the issues still there.

I can't get my og wizard to connect to betaflight's recent configuator it will only connect to the old bf chrome app. The f3 fcb is no longer supported.

I'm running cleanflight 2.0 on my wizard, you might try connecting with the chrome app, hope this helps.

This is why you keep a box of escs around from old builds so can swap the one out and keep flying :D. I've been pretty good about not toasting my escs lately but it is one of those components I've had to replace occasionally (usually prop stuck on something and motor/esc just trying too hard to make the motor spin). Can swap two motors to eliminate the motor from possible issues but yah it still sounds like partially burnt out esc to me.
