Help with MJX X101 - No Remote?

Hello!

I'm totally new to the RC/Quadcopter/Drone community, and I'm not terribly sure where to start or how. I got my hands on a MJX X101 drone that had been lost sometime last year. Nobody claimed it, so it was given to me basically for free. It came with no remote or charger. I managed to purchase a charger online, and the battery still seems to charge okay.

However, without a remote, I wasn't really sure what to do. I tried downloading some apps that allow for control of drones, apparently, but had no luck in getting them to "bind" or anything to the drone itself. The drone just continually flashes, which I believe means it's waiting for a controller to connect?

Any help is much appreciated! Am I bum out of luck with this? Am I better off using it for parts for some diy drone project?

Thanks!

Thanks for the link. It's not terribly expensive, I see. I was wondering, however, if there was any way to rig or emulate a controller without buying one? If not, I'm sure I can scratch 15 bucks for one, but I am curious about options.

Thanks for your time!

Just noticed your post. I have the opposite problem this year- my mjx 101 flew away. So I have the controller, charger, motors, batteries but no drone. If you got your 101 flying, watch the FlyAway possibility. When you get out of range the Drone often just keeps flying. I was planning an antenna mod. Good Luck!
