Help with first new build

Ok so, I bought afro ESC.. and i bought UBEC as well because of power consumption of KK board and poor amperage of the BEC in these ESC's..
this one: https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking...EC_with_Low_Voltage_Buzzer_UK_Warehouse_.html

where exactly should i connect the UBEC to the KK 2.1.5 FCB ??
is it OK to connect it to the shared connector from battery with one of the ESC ???
which cables should i change (polarity) to get CW or CCW motor spinning... the ones from battery to the ESC (red, black) or these from the ESC to the motor (red, yellow black) ???

Hi mate when you use a BEC this plugs into the battery pins on the receiver this then powers the KK , solder into the main power leads from the battery where this goes into the PDB or the first part of any loom you make up , just connect as close to the battery as you can get
as for motors any 2 wires will make the motor the other way so any 2 of the 3 motor wires Never the main power leads these must always be red to red, black to black
So you know the main job of an ESC is to convert DC voltage( battery 2 phase) to the 3 Phase the motor needs to work this is why there are 3 wires to the motor it also controls timing and phasing (PWM) this is what makes the motor spin and how fast , its last job is as a BEC but the afro etc has no BEC

Hi mate OSD is a small unit that plug between the camera and transmitter on the quad this will send make all the info so it shows up on the monitor , just be careful not to over load the BEC

OK so i made a little tests... i connected the UBEC to programming ports power pins so i have power from UBEC on KK 2.1.5.... after that my reciever shows no signal, then 0 anyhow i moved the controller but then i used a google a little bit and found this http://forum.flitetest.com/showthread.php?11465-kk2-1-5-problems/page2
so i just setted the mode to STD and my reciever works like a charm with my KK 2.1.5... but then i tried calibrate the esc's... and that's the big mystery for me... i've got throttle on full, holding button number 1 and 4 and powered it up... on the screen shows me full throttle, the red led was illuminated on KK but nothing else happend, no motor spinning nothing... when i released the buttons then the esc just beeped the motor and led's on it flashed... ( i dont remember how long or how many times beept or flashed) (probably they thought that they are calibrated but they not let any power to the motors) every single one did the same thing ( 7 ESC's) (first time i tried connected every one directly to the reciever but no luck... no motor spinning.. only 1 did that... 1 from 7...) they dont let the motor to spin or something.. i dont know... maybe it its problem with KK 2.1.5... so i shoul buy a new KK FCB ??? or a usb programmer for these afro ESC's to reflash them ?? or both ?? or something else ??

Hi mate on the KK you normally power through motor 1 esc , but as your using a BEC you need to plug this into the batt pins on the receiver ( I know it works done it before) the receiver will then power the KK
Look at page 4 of this manual

i succesfully powered my KK board... thats not the problem.. the reciever works... thats not the problem... the problem are ESC's... they cant calibrate or spin the motor...

so i tried to do a calibration of each ESC.. they spinned the motor but i not heard the beep or flash..... when i hold the button 1 and 4 , switched on the transmitter on max throttle the motor started to spin but no sound or flash from ESC that its OK to put the throttle to idle...

Yes it is fine, the real test is what they do after you disarm the KK and spin them up. Do they spin up at the same time?

Finally i've got everything right.. the motors spinning the same (hopefuly) but i have concernes only about one thing.. the rudder is a little bit loos, when i release it it will go to it's place but the KK board showing me that it stays a little bit off place... so in real world it could stay right or left (i mean the flying direction)... so now only i need to put props on and try my first flight.. what is the PI calibration ???

Hi mate you need to correct the rudder first go into monitor screen and then use sub trim in the radio to zero the rudder or it will be hard to fly, I was reading what you did to calibrate the ESCs can you re do it this way
turn on transmitter and put to full throttle , then hold down buttons 1&4 while you hold them down get some one to plug battery into quad the ,you should get the bleep then reduce throttle it should bleep again
Only now release the buttons this is now calibrated , test motors if all 4 start up at the same time then good if they dont , go into menu misc section there will be a setting for min throttle its normally on 10 bring it up 2 points at a time and retest till the motors start at the same time the max is 20
Now your ready to fit props and test fly remember to arm by holding rudder right disarm hold left

Exactly as Neil said. You might also want to set some expo on your rudder/yaw after you get it trimmed.

Your a bad man George No expo, adjust stick scaling never add expo as this can make the FCB go strange , a good pilot flies with no expo his fingers need to do it all LOL

Hahahaha, stick scaling is better, I jsut said expo because more people seem to know how to do it hahah. A real pilot controls his falcon from star wars with only the force haha

i have all my ESC's calibrated... everything right.. only the rudder... I just made a video about it where you can see on the output sliders menu that after releasing the rudder the motor speeds not going back to same level...
