HELP - T-Motor F4 and Spektrum

I just got a PNP T-Motor FT5 with the t-motor F4 board. I need to run a Spektrum RCV but when I hook it up to R5 for SBUS, Betaflight doesn’t see the receiver. Do I need to uses different UART? Anyone know anything about using Spektrum and a t-motor F4 flight controller?

Make sure to set the protocol to spektrum2048 or 1024 in the configuration tab... There may be other limitations for which UART is used for DSM receivers are hooked up to but usually I just follow the manual or pinout page if one is available regarding where to hook up a spektrum receiver.
 
Thanks. I tried Spektrum 1024 and 2048. Also tried just SBUS, none worked. I’m not sure if it’s an inversion thing or not on this particular UART pin or what...
 
Just to verify make sure to hit save in config tab or any other tab when making changes also make sure the rx and tx are bound so you aren't just seeing idle or timeout values from the rx and getting actual stick data sent along. Not really familiar with the FC but can't say I've run into any inversion or other issues... That said I think some spektrum receivers run on 3.3V instead of 5V so maybe a power issue, if you have access to an oscilloscope or don't mind getting a cheap one could at least see if there is data coming out of the signal line when the receiver is powered up.
 
Receiver bound fine and I hit save every time. I even went to the CLI and checked the stats of everything to make sure it saved. I read something that the F4 boards are just different enough from the 1,3 and 7’s that hooking up a Spektrum receiver is different as well.
 
Hrm I've had basically all F4 boards (at least 3 or 4 of them, but typically omnibusF4 or something similar so the tarot layout is a bit unfamiliar), also used mostly spektrum/DSMX receivers. Will let you know if anything surfaces but only thing I'm seeing in watching overview vid here of the board is there is an R3 serial UART next to the R5 that might be worth trying out:

 
Hi im having the same type of issue I have a t motor f4 FC and a spektrum SMP4650 and I can bind to the receiver no problem but cant get any out put when im on the receiver tab on beta flight. Im a little confused because in the pinout diagram of board it doesn't say anything about hooking a spektrum up if you fond out anything that would be gratefully appreciated.

Hey suggest start a new thread so can post your details and some screenshots of BF there, need to see your ports tab, configuration tab, and ideally image of the FC showing the receiver hook up and FC and receiver model.
