Help needed

Hey Pilots!

I am new to website building / design and was wondering if I could get some feed back on a project I’ve been working on. Www.thepilotcompany.com is a drone industry news and supply company. I am not encouraging anyone to sign up or anything, I would just like some drone enthusiasts to click around the site and let me know your initial thoughts and feelings about it. What works? What doesn’t? Is it easy to use? Etc.. It would really mean a lot to me and help me grow as a website designer.

Welcome to the forum. I spent a couple minutes clicking around and here's my feedback.

While it looks very nice, it looks like a thousand other template-based websites. It also feels a little slow to load and navigate.

The biggest problem is that in the short time I spent on your site, I kept asking myself the question: "What is this site giving me that I can't get from adding those news sites into my Feedly or another news aggregator?". My answer was "nothing". If a site doesn't offer me something I can't get (or can't easily get) elsewhere, why would I visit or return?

You've got a nice base to grow from but you need to spend some time thinking about how to differentiate yourself.
