If it ain't broke, don't fix it??? You kidding?
I've been a hotrodder most all of my life(first was a wind up clock when I was 5, would do an hour in 37 minutes) and one thing you learn early is that heat kills motors. Doesn't matter the size, doesn't matter the fuel.
Quads are my latest hotrodding fodder. In specific the Syma X8hg/hc. I'm really enjoying flying but as much the tinkering.
Bought a set of coolplay motors with gears and gear/motor housing. Discovered some things.
Coolplay motors do not have the large ventilation slots that are in the HG motors.("G" motors?). So the motor upgrade got shoot down. Now I'm gonna find out if the Coolplay motors really do use steel bearings/bushings or not. That was the primary reason I got them. When I have to replace my HG motors, I'll tear one of them down to see if they have plastic bearings/bushings.
T he gear/motor housing does NOT have matching holes/slots for the HG motors.........which means those slots are meaningless unless you drill matching holes. I thought for a while about doing matching slots but didn't want to take the chance of weakening the housing to that extent.
Here's a pic of the HG motors........
