Got the Syma X3C (upgraded) as a gift and been having a lot of fun with it. All of a sudden, though, I can't get any lift. With full throttle it sounds about right, but barely makes it 8 inches off the floor. I tried replacing the battery, removing the guards, and replacing the blades with the brand new ones from the box. Also tried "resetting" it by pulling both sticks to the lower-right position. Same thing.

Any thoughts?

Hi mate the coreless motors dont last long on the toy quads , there is only 2 things to do, 1 fit new motors, 2 buy a bigger quad that has brushless motors
If you want to buy motors they are about £15 on e bay for 4 , but will need to be soldered to the board

thanks, neil. found some on amazon - I get free shipping with them... got two packs of two - total 4. less than $20 us. Am curious, though... Any way to isolate which one is bad?

Hi mate its very hard as they will feel ok , if it was drifting then you may be able to work out what motor has gone , but it sounds like the 4 are failing by not getting enough lift , the motors dont last long ,I had one fail first crash, when the hubsan x4 first came out even landing hard on a hard floor killed the motors

Hi, Neil. I think it would be unlikely for all 4 to fail at the same time... This thing was flying one moment and not the next. With a single failure, I would expect the software to throttle back the other 3 to provide the same lift as a failed one - just to maintain level. While holding onto the bottom of the copter with the revs up, I attempted to tilt the copter toward each corner, one at a time. As I went from corner to corner, I convinced myself that I could feel a little less effort on its part to right itself on one corner. But who knows... Got motors today. I noticed while installing the second one, the blade would not spin so freely - it was binding a little. That can't be good... I see Amazon also has that little assembly... Quite an interesting hobby I got myself into! Thanks again, for the help.

Hi Curtis , quads work strange at times they normal reduce and speed up motors at the same time , the board cant work out if a motor is down on power this is why they wont fly all 4 motors need to work 100%

Try a drop of some plastic friendly oil on the shaft/bushing of the main gear (not the motor).
