GPS Module + New Flight Controller Recommendations

(First post, so hi everyone!)

I got my first quadcopter last year - a budget build based on a F450 frame with a Free Flight Controller. I've since added some landing skids and a 2 axis gimbal for a GoPro. I'm now looking to add a GPS module to the drone for tracking and pre-programmed flights but I'm also thinking ahead to my next build, which I'd like to be an improvement in every possible area.

So my first question is - does anyone have any recommendations for a budget GPS module that would work with my Free Flight Controller?

And my second question is - what would you all recommend for a flight controller for a new quadcopter build these days? The FFC has lasted really well (and I have yet to try the Baseflight firmware for it) but I'm looking to try something different.

Then you will have to replace it. Usually searching for 10DOF brings up choices.

Naze 32 10 DOF - This board includes both the BMP280 barometer and a HMC5833 compass sensor. Adding a compass sensor helps with getting better aircraft heading measurements while you are flying, but most importantly it allows you to add a GPS module to enable position hold flight mode with your drone.

This is probably not the official Naze, but a copy (Flip32).

This one is interesting.

The Flip32 v2./ All in One is based off the Flip32 Lineup, but packs all the features in one small board, but it has integrated MiniOSD, PDB, BEC and Current and voltage sensors, soulation for FPV, incl. almost everything FPV needed (excl. RF) on 35x35 mm PCB. RTF Quads has always shipped v2 of the AIO.
Important : Comes Pre- flashed with CleanFlight 1.11.0 , and the latest OSD release,osd-1.5.1.0, so your are ready to fly. .. get OSD software GUI here. All of the correct changes are done. all pre flashed. nothing for you to do but fly. ( #define CLEANFLIGHT, FC_VOLTAGE_CONFIG ect..)
He also has GPS options. Due note he is a one man show, shipping times can get a bit long.

Thanks very much for the info and suggestions. Is it not possible to add a barometer and compass to my existing flight controller? That thread I linked to is the best resource I can find on it and I'm still going through its almost-400 pages but apparently there was an add-on board for it (which I can't find for sale anywhere now) and some people have also managed to do it by making their own, or by soldering a barometer directly onto the board. So would something like this work - http://www.banggood.com/CJMCU-10DOF-9-Axis-MPU9250-BMP180-Sensor-Module-p-971470.html ?

However I have another issue with it in that it needs a USB adapter to configure/update the firmware and it didn't come with one so I need to find one of those as well. I think they're pretty standard USB-Serial adapters but I'll have to get one and then figure out how to connect it.

I was looking at the Naze before and am quite tempted by it - if I can't upgrade the Free Flight I'll probably get one of those. Would be nice to have something a bit more recent with more support available!
