GPS Module + New Flight Controller Recommendations

(First post, so hi everyone!)

I got my first quadcopter last year - a budget build based on a F450 frame with a Free Flight Controller. I've since added some landing skids and a 2 axis gimbal for a GoPro. I'm now looking to add a GPS module to the drone for tracking and pre-programmed flights but I'm also thinking ahead to my next build, which I'd like to be an improvement in every possible area.

So my first question is - does anyone have any recommendations for a budget GPS module that would work with my Free Flight Controller?

And my second question is - what would you all recommend for a flight controller for a new quadcopter build these days? The FFC has lasted really well (and I have yet to try the Baseflight firmware for it) but I'm looking to try something different.

Naze 32 10 DOF - This board includes both the BMP280 barometer and a HMC5833 compass sensor. Adding a compass sensor helps with getting better aircraft heading measurements while you are flying, but most importantly it allows you to add a GPS module to enable position hold flight mode with your drone.

Thanks very much for the info and suggestions. Is it not possible to add a barometer and compass to my existing flight controller? That thread I linked to is the best resource I can find on it and I'm still going through its almost-400 pages but apparently there was an add-on board for it (which I can't find for sale anywhere now) and some people have also managed to do it by making their own, or by soldering a barometer directly onto the board. However I have another issue with it in that it needs a USB adapter to configure/update the firmware and it didn't come with one so I need to find one of those as well. I think they're pretty standard USB-Serial adapters but I'll have to get one and then figure out how to connect it.

I was looking at the Naze before and am quite tempted by it - if I can't upgrade the Free Flight I'll probably get one of those. Would be nice to have something a bit more recent with more support available!
