Hi!

My first build attempt. I'm still gathering info and not yet ordered the parts. This drone should be able in future to be able to lift gimbal + sports cam (like GoPro etc'). I'm also planning to add FPV, OSD and GPS. Please note that I'm extremely tight on budget so go easy on me :)

Frame:
Alien Reptile 500m frame - 14$

ESC:
EMAX 30A BLHELI - 26$

Battery status telemetry:
Flysky FS-CVT01 - 4$

Battery:
Lion Power 3S 4400mAh 30C - 39$

Updated the list:
- Changed to Hobbypower 920KV motors with a bit better reviews
- Changed to EMAX ESC with BLHELI firmware, also with better reviews than the SimonK ones.
- Decided to go with the newer FlySky-FS-i6s instead of FlySky-FS-i6 and the FS-iA10B(10ch) receiver. Looks much better, more options, touch screen etc' - and costs only 16$ more.
- Added battery status telemetry, only 4$ and sounds much more practical than a buzzer...
- Updated to 4400mAh instead of 2200mAh for longer flight times.

Buy a spare motor and ESC. I used very similar components for my tricopter (which is being rebuilt as a T-copter) and have no regrets. Buy a spare motor and ESC. You should also have at least 2 batterries. Make sure to use LibrePilot for your CC3D programming.

ccd is good but not easy to set up look at the tarot multirotor
Are those also $13.50? :)

Thanks for the quick response guys! I totally forgot about the props :) I did planned to use 10x47 though so I guess I'm on the right path.

About the battery, how can I improve the flight time? Get bigger mAh battery like 4000/5000 35C?

About the FC, I really have no doubt that Tarot is by far better choice. However, it costs as much as all this list :/ and unfortunately I'm out of budget this time.

So, except that, will this give me 10min flying with gimbal and cam?

ok great!

BTW:
I read that CC3D Evo is actually a Chinese knock of of the original, with the addition of some ports for GPS. There's new CCD3 Revolution board which is the real-deal but unfortunately its much more expensive (~50$)
So I decided to go with the "regular" CC3D for now.

So I took some time calculating on eCalc and I'm pretty much OK with the build:
frame 500g + 4 motors ~200g + 4 ESCs ~100g + FC/PDB/Receiver ~60 = 1KG tops - with future FPV upgrade with gimbal and cam + 400g

oh and I also choose 2212 920KV motors (DJI style) with the same 10x47 props, they seem to match a bit better for this build

So with 4200 mAh 30C battery I should have about 18min hover time (1KG)
and with FPV + camera + gimbal it should be about 12min (1.4KG)

I guess its a good start for the first build and I'm going for it :)

Thanks! It will take a while until all the parts will be delivered though. I will do my best to log my progress and upload it here :)
