Frustrated!

My Syma x5c had a problem with one of the rotors binding up. So I ordered replacement motors and plastic gear doo dads in my first attempt at repairing a quad. I got my parts in so I disassembled the Syma only to find the plastic doo dad was not the right one. I ordered "original Syma parts" and they look nothing alike. I blew it off and began to reassemble the quad. Now I can't seem to get the housing to line back up properly to put the screws back in no matter how much I manipulate it. Now I have to decide if I should order another x5c or spend a little extra money and get myself a better quad. Its just a little maddening.

Sounds like you might have done opposite to me - ended up with X5 parts when I have an X8 similar but different. Or perhaps your supplier has mixed up the parts, i've seen that happen many times where the warehouse pick from the wrong tub.
I do like my Syma X8 for the high availability and low cost of spare parts. Having lost one (high wind), I like keeping the total value in the air under control in case I lose another.

Have you looked at a few YouTube videos to help guide you on getting it back together?- might help?

Tim.

I have watched a bunch of them. They all make it look soooo easy lol. Part of the problem was I ordered a part without actually taking the quad apart and looking at the part I needed to ensure I got the right one. I will chalk that one up to my own inexperience. A few years ago I might have tried making precise adjustments to it with a hammervbut now I will restrain myself. My therapist will take this as progress LOL
