FRSky ACCESS Transmitter with ACCST Receiver?

Greetings,

I am fairly new to the drone world. In researching transmitters and receivers I came across the FRSky ACCST and ACCESS protocols. From what I understand, newer FRSky transmitters and receivers communicate via ACCESS. I have a couple questions about this.

1. Is it possible to bind an ACCESS transmitter to an ACCST receiver?
2. Vise versa: is it possible to bind an ACCESS transmitter to an ACCST receiver?

1. Maybe
2. Same question but assuming you meant ACCST tx to ACCESS rx the answer is almost definitely no.

I would say make sure your TX and RXes will work together if getting the latest from FrSky or not some generic module bay that supports a wide range of frequencies and protocols (lots of TXes come with 4 in 1 or 5 in 1 modules with many physical radios and even more protocols supported on top of them)

Q9: Is it possible to fly my ACCST receivers with a new ACCESS transmitter?
A: Yes, users can bind the ACCST D16 receivers with a new ACCESS transmitter. FrSky also have the external options (XJT and XJT Lite) for users to bind the older D8 and LR12 receivers.

Good discussion about it here too and in the comments:

I've personally stuck with spektrum satellite receivers for most of my things but occasionally have dipped in to the flysky ia6 or some frsky D8 ones but haven't tried any of the newer stuff (honestly don't know what else I would need/want)
