Frankendrone to FPV

dragger201

If it ain't broke, don't fix it??? You kidding?
Time has been in short supply and since Frankendrone is really time intense, I've put further work on hold until after fall.

In the mean time I've been given FPV a try with a mini-brushed motor QX90c by Eachine. My first one the first FPV flight I "backed" it into a tree. Found it about 2 weeks later with my trusty 25hp quad finder. Only problem is that my quad finder isn't very gentle.

My second one, got it setup in Cleanflight then just messing with it and BAM, the camera slipped thru the slots on top and shorted out the FC. My first MAGIC SMOKE............and the end of that mini-quad.

Got a third one and also a 115mm frame that I could use 65mm props. Did my first flight this morning, very short........but I think I'm gonna like this FPV stuff for when I don't have a lot of time for flying.

Here they are the original, the new frame and the final assemble(with out the bigger props yet)........

Looks like my old Gool 90, kept breaking the antenna off the VTX until there was no more room to re-solder it back on !

Don't fly near trees anymore..............head out to the center of the cow/horse pasture....................that f'ing tree has to find other forms of nutriments................

Thats funny.
So the only dangers are all the patties, huh:)
Are the critters getting used to the quads zipping around?

We need to see videos!

Have fun
Bill

That is great, they don't seem to mind at all unless you get real close. Now you can herd them from the house!

How many acres do you have?

I see lots of woods in one direction, you having problems with Coyotes??

Its pretty bad here in SC. My dog and I had a pretty close encounter one night walking in the back 40. (only 3.5 acres. But deep in the woods.)

Hey Bill...........We're down to about 165 acres from a little over 400. Of that 165, about 60 is wooded. We got a couple of mules, couple of donkeys and a great perennes so even though there are coyotes around, they ain't really a problem. The cows are pretty cool. I give 'em range cubes twice a week so they come running ANYTIME I come into the pasture. Yeah, if I stay 3 to 4 feet above them they aren't bothered at all.

BUT......fun time coming this week. Got a small dove field that I'll be planting with wheat this week and I gotta keep the Canadian Geese off it.....................(wringing hands gleefully).............video to come..........
