Flight Controller Software

I am attempting to write a flight controller following the videos by Joop Brokking.

I wonder if someone can explain why he chooses to use a 250Hz refresh rate for his ESC controls?

The transmitter is sending a pulse every 20ms (50Hz) so it seems that the same received pulse will be sent 4 or 5 times. Why is this an advantage?

Many thanks for any ideas on this.

Tx - rx - fcb - esc's - motor, is the chain of command. I'm no boffin but tx-rx has no input to the esc's, so that makes no difference. Its fcb - esc & it's not the refresh rate that matters, it's the ESC response rate driving motor speed changes that makes the difference. All I know is ppl use Dshot because you don't have to calibrate the esc's.
The fastest protocol is multishot.
Which I still use on all my quads.
Maybe the esc's don't heat up as much having a lower Hz.
I know the basics enough to fly & that does me.
