First quad build - newbie asking for advice

Hi,

I'm complete newbie on this business and never even flight a multirotor. However my intends are building a budget (200-300$) quad for having experiences on aerial filming. So my filming equipment would be GoPro like for starters. What I'm thinking that am I taking a too much for once with this. Anyways, here couple of questions, I apologize my english and ignorance about correct terms on some subjects.

1. Frame

I have access to craft wood, aluminium and plastic, so I thought it would be good for budget to build my first frame by myself. Any tips appreciated. What I was thinking, how much the shape of arm below prop affect lift? Wouldn't it be most efficient to have as little as possible surface area facing up and making drag? What kind of landing gear would you recommend?

2. Motors, ECS, props

HP2814(3536)-810KV Outrunner Brushless Motor

24$ and 100g each. Manufacturer claims 1500g of thrust @ 298w. LiPoх4/10x4.7(APC)

Does this sound reasonable?

NFS ESC 30A Multi-Rotor ESC SimonK Firmware (OPTO)

9$ and 32g each.

(4Pairs) 10x5" Carbon Fiber CW CCW Propellers

11.5g each. 32$ for this set.

Are cf props as bad/good some are saying? Should I take apc props to be sure about quality and balancing?

3. FC and accessories

This was the most biggest unknown for me. The AIOP V2.0 ALL IN ONE PRO Flight Controller sounded to be best option for money. With it for conveniency a bluetooth module.

http://www.rctimer.com/product_765.html 50$ and bt 7$.

How the fc is powered supposing I cant feed it straight from 4c lipo?

Any experiences how will gps do here very north and does glonass bring any extra accuracy or reliability?

4. Battery

I found these Zippy Compact 2200mah 4c 25C 210g @ hobbyking for 16$ to have very good energy/weight ratio. I planned to use 2 or 3 paraller. For charging Turnigy Accucel-6. Does this charger show me condition of cells so I dont need lipo monitor for that?

5. TX/RX

This I really dont know. Maybe turnigy 9x? Could you recommend something that would do the thing for a small amount of money?

Plus wire, connectors, zipties, solder, nuts and bolts..

At this point, what am I missing? Should I have some spare parts (except props)?

I estimated the weight to be something about 1600g+/-200g depending how I succeed with the frame. Max ideal thrust 6kg @ 1200W. Total 97.7Wh with all three batteries on board. With some very simple function I got 15min air time but I think that half of that could be realistic.

What you think about all this?

Howdy,
I am quite new to this too, but I'll let you know what I did. I had read a ton about configurations, specifications and read forum posts about the subject. I kept coming across this website http://www.ecalc.ch/xcoptercalc.php?ecalc&lang=en From what I know, these guys took manufacturers' test data from the products and some aeronautics to tell you if your setup may work (mostly for power usage with other electrical loads associated). Now, I managed to check it before they wanted people to pay for the full version (they did take donations, though). I don't have any affiliation with their website, I just used it to make sure my setup would work, on a rough basis. Good luck.
