First FPV drone

Just had to refresh. You can sand, file a copper tip but not a steel or iron one.
Try this if u want.
Plug it in let it heat up. Clean with sponge or dab it on some wire wool so it's clean.
Turn it off let it cool down for 10 min.
Then wrap some solder around the tip and turn it on. As it heats up it should stick then apply a lot more solder. If it still rolls off the tip is defective.
Even with an iron that's to hot it still sticks. It turns dark but sticks.
Try not to get a fine point tip. Medium point is OK for fcb. Then you want one with a flat tip for bigger pads like esc on pdb which draw more heat away. Especially ground pads. A fine tip struggles with this.
So you want one like a ball point pen & another the same with the top 2mm cut off.

Sorry for my late reply, I've been busy with work and I went on vacation.
Received a new soldering iron from the store; this one actually works.

Everyting except for the video stuff has been soldered and works now. The only stupid thing is that I got the motors wrong and put the wrong motor ESC pins on the wrong location on the FC.
I can't seem to find a solution in Cleanflight, the order of motors is not in the list of how I soldered it. It seems very hard to desolder the pins on the FC.

Is there some software fix or do I need to resolder them all?

Oh yes. That is one thing that has got to be right. The motor to esc wires can be mixed up as bl-heli can reverse that.
But esc to fcb has got to be in order.
Motor 1 to pin set 1 etc etc. Did you direct solder to the holes or using the servo plugs. Maybe the stick positions AETR
Should be different. What Tx do you use.
And what mode, 1or2 if mode 1 then the AETR will be opposite because the stick is opposite to mode 2.

That build looks the shiz.
Going from that pic just add the 5v & G.
& the esc's to the corresponding pins.
I don't get what you mean by software.
The M1 & Esc have to go to pin set 1 on the fcb & M2 & esc to pin set 2.etc
There is no changing that on the fcb software. No getting around it.
It's that way or you don't fly.
Written in stone.
Good luck.

No there is 2 bl-heli apps
Bl-heli suite
Bl-heli configuration tool.
The latter is a trimmed down easier version. Looks the shiz = looks cool, nice build. It's going to rip with them emax.
What are they normal 2205 race spec 2300kv or 2205S 2700kv. I use em on all my kwads except the one I let inquisitive passers-by have a go.

What frame is that.
Looks like an RJX 220 or similar.
Picked yourself an intermediate build for your first eh. Have you a side view to show & or the top part. What rx & cam.?

This is my stack on a qav-r, the arm bolts prevent flush mounting to the deck. IMG_20170717_223825111-1024x575.jpg
The standoffs are 2.5cm & pcb & fcb are half that.

This is a line of sight flyer 270g without battery. Nearly 90mph on 4s.
So you be looking @ 70-80 on 4S and about 45 on 3S. 10 on 2S but not for long lol
