First build parts list check before order

Hey guys, about to start my first racing fpv build. If you have any suggestions for my parts list let me know. I've probably forgotten something as well so let me know if i have.

Frame: a250 carbon fibre racing frame

Flight controller: naze 32 acro

Motors: dys be1806 2300kv

Esc: 16 amp opto

Props: gemfan 6045 nylon

Battery: multistar high capacity 3s 4000mah lipo

Fpv cam: sony super had

Reciever: skyzone 5.8ghz 32ch rc832

Transmitter: boscam 5.8ghz 600mw wireless av

Osd: hobbyking e-osd

Controller/reciever: turnigy 5X 5ch mini trans and reciever.

My gopro will also be mounted

Controller/receiver: I would at least get a 6 channel radio.

You may be able to use 5045 bullnose props, cheap enough to try.

You will also need a separate UBEC with opto ESCs.

I have both DYS and Multistar Elites, there is a big difference in quality, and a tiny difference in price. If you can I'd suggest you get the Multistar Elite motors.

The windings look really good in the Multistars! (Much larger shaft too)

Yeah, the windings are a little heavier gauge to accommodate the higher max amp draw, the bell is 2215 vs 1806, and the mounting pattern on the bottom is standard with regular screws, the DYS motors take really tiny bolts and I had to modify my frame to accommodate the weird pattern.

Just all around a better motor, all in all, I am pretty pleased with them.

I was thinking of using a higher cap battery because it was the same weight as 1500mah batteries from different brands. Would you still reccomend those props for multistar elites?

If the c rating is too low you will have a sluggish craft. I fly 1400mah 45c on my 250. If this is your first aircraft I would start with mild props, and move to the bullnose once once you can fly a few times without breaking any props.

hahaha,if the C rating on the battery is too low for what you pull it won't nessasarly be sluggish as the battery will provide the amperage that is asked of it, but it will likely ruin the battery, and may even set it on fire if you are pulling way too high.

Example battery: 1500mAh, 3S, 40C-80C
1.5Ah*40C = 50 amps supply
1.5Ah*80C = 120 amps burst supply
your ESCs are 16 amp so 16amp * 4 = 64 amps max draw

Now keep in mind that there is nothing to keep you from exceeding the ESC's max amp draw, so you really should figure it based on what the motors will draw with a certain prop.


I'm using a 1400mAh 40c-80c battery, and some 5040 props, but have not experimented with the props.


Take a look at the prop test data for the motors.

Take a look at some D.A.L props. They are the most rugged props I've seen hahaha. you pretty much stop using when they are too bent to re-balance.

I will have to keep this in mind

Now that I think of it, I did once buy a battery with too low of a c rating, and my ac flew fine, but the battery was dead in 1/3 of the time than it should have been.
