first build - 300 emax - New year resolution goal

Hi everyone,

I'm Peter and finally after much considering I've decided to get a drone.
*I've bought one from shop for 100$ for learning but it broke after two days ( luckily got refund!). So decided to go after more expensive one and hopefully more stable. To my surprise, it was easier to buy than to build one.

The drone is not ready yet, but I believe it's going the right direction. I've encountered so many problems and learn new awesome skills and things I've never imagined - basically I'm receiving happy hormones from building ito_O
But eventually I've encountered a problem where my google search skills distract me more than help me... So please help me realise my mini goal of new year resolution!

Here's a list of my drone parts:

Motors hellfire 2204 - 2300kv - link
Esc 30A Afro - link I'm unaware of the current firmware, but it states it comes in stock with SimonK.
Emax 300 frame - link - the rear motors are upside down. Hopefully that's not a problem?
Battery 4s 1800mah 50-100c - link - it's a beast I know, got two of them!
Flight controller KK 2.15 HC with protective case - link - came with a programmer - so far not much of use, since don't know how to use it.. - no cable to connect to pc.
Transmitter FlySky FS i6 - link - came with a receiver. No cable to connect to PC.

Here are the pictures of building it:
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_5MOtNznNXucGd5S1hmLXBSWjg&usp=sharing - cannot upload pictures herE?!

Now the main problem is I can't understand why the heck it's not working after i assemble everything? The remote controller is simply not activating the motors - nothings happens.

I have intuition I'm connecting wrongly the receiver with flight controller as all my servo lead cables comes with 3 cables ( white, red, black) - but should I order new cables( which ones), or do smthg with them?

* Another option..how the heck to program my flight controller or transmitter - it CAME WITH NO MANUAL !!! :((

Please help me out..
thank you very much

Welcome to the forum :D

Have the escs, and radio been calibrated?

I actually purchased a small servo when I first started to help with troubleshooting.

I do not have any experience with the KK flight controller, but this may help.

Here's the manual for your radio.

Thats is the same order as the FS RX, AETR. So AIL goes into #1 of your RX . ELE into #2 etc.

On your radio go into the AUX menu and assign a switch to ch 5 (they are all marked.) Mine came with the pots assigned like this.

You can use the switch that is most convenient to toggle between enable/disable Self-Levelling mode.

Does the RX light up at least?

Hey,

I can't seem to calibrate escs - not certain what goes wrong. I do get the message on my HK2.15 programming screen "Pass through something" but the motors do not turn on afterwards..

Radio calibrated - do you mean binding? or what is radio calibration?

Hey,
I have just read the manual - could not find anything in it regarding setting the transmitter into actual quad:/ Plus many terms found in the manual are unknown to me -.-

AIL - you mean the connection from flight controller? I've plugged 5 cables from flight controller ( AIL - CH1, ELE - CH2, THR-CH3, RUDD- CH4, AUX - CH5)

May I ask what is the difference between self-leveling mode?

The rx ( receiver) does light up - the light is stable( I believe Receiver and transmitter is binded ( it came binded already, and I've rebinded them again for sake of peace)

Self leveling means if you let go of the sticks no matter what the flying angle of the quad (in any direction) it will level itself. When OFF it is up to you to make it level with stick movements, if you don't it just stays at the angle it was at.

Well that tells you something is going on. When you wiggle the right stick, going back and forth from full right to left does the screen respond?

How about on the radio, are you seeing movement here?

Hi there,

I am seeing movements. Here 's the video - you might need additional app to open it from desktop, but a mobile phone shows it

I have also slightly upgraded the cables coming from flight controller to Rx - I had servo cables containing 3 cables, so I've removed two of them and left one for the servo and of course left one servo cable with all 3 cables for power source. Does anyone see error in it? link1 link2 link3
C
ould it be the major problem within the software or esc calibration?

There's another notice: on my flight control programmer i see a line with "no yaw input" - what does that refer to exactly? On the website it refers to many problems but no single one. link

S
hould i perhaps perform a factory reset on my transmitter or Hk2.15?
Thank you very much for everyone's time!

I've managed somehow @with unknown attempts..@ to see a positive sensor test in my programmer ( before it showed no signal).

Here's the video link

ut there is no response in the actual motors.

I'm recharging my battery ( maybe its the issue).

P.s. in the video you can hear a constant beep - what does it refer to?

thx!

Hey guys,

two of my previous messages never been posted here - seems like the moderators of the forum forgot about them ...

I have good news that I managed to turn on the motors with the transmitter. But I'm encountering funny reaction from it likewise I always have to re-calibrate after I turn off the transmitter. Is that a normal procedure?

As well I'm having trouble with producing up power - basically my quad does not lift up.
*I'm waiting for new nuts to tighten my propellers. After I receive them I will post here the video of it.

Thanks everyone for the help so far!
