Just spent $ 3K on Quad and accessories only to find out I'm now a felon if I fly it over my farm to look at growing crops. Government out of control If you read the new ruling that came down today, you're basically limited to flying only in your own back yard like a 5 year old.

Your farm is your backyard. And you can fly an APM quad with waypoints to audit your fields, recording video, and watch it later with GPS coordinate overlay. I think it's FPV they are targeting. And actually a fixed-wing RC is better since it would have longer flight duration.
Look at the Dennis Baldwin YouTube videos and maybe contact him or duplicate his setup. He has done a fixed wing setup for ground surveying. Most of your gear could probably just move to a fixed wing platform.
