You need to supply the fcb 5v from the 5v bec on the pdb. I can see you already have 2 sets of feeds off of it. What are they for.
Have you got a multimeter to test the BEC is working. You can just solder 2 wires from 5v + ground on pdb then solder to
+- on motor rail 8 out the way.

You need to supply the +- on rail 8 with 5v from the bec on the pdb.
If you have done this & nothing then use a multimeter to check its working. The only other way to get 5v is by using a step down off the 12v.
I don't know what pdb you have, but some will only let you have either 5v or 12v if you solder a jumper pad.
Most have 5v & 12v. That looks like a 80amp pdb maybe more.

Thanks for the advice I have hooked up the 5v supply from the pdb to the fc on the rail for number 8 but it has not worked maybe the 5v is not working on the pdb, what has also confused me is that there are two big red and black wires going to the esc to power them whcih i understand but then there are two smaller red and black cables that are connected to the 5v on the pdb doesn't make sense what they are used for?

The two smaller wires coming off the esc are signal wires which connect to the motor rail on the signal & ground pins.
Motor 1 = back right = motor pin 1
Motor 2 =front right = pin 2
Motor 3 =back left = pin 3 and so on.

Do you have a multimeter to check if the 5v bec is live if you plug lipo in.
Like I said, some pdb's give either 5v or 12v & some only one if you solder the jumper.

So the big wire power the esc & the smaller wires send signals from the fcb to the esc's. Telling them what to do.
