Drone Pilot Arrested Following Flight

Even if I only go over the park I check the notam's. John lennon airport is 5.2miles away & Southport is about 15 miles away. Both out of range but it's summer & shows carnivals going on. Like red arrows. So I check. These light aircraft are not exactly following the rules either. Or the police. I was flying on an empty golf coarse. & kept on getting buzzed by a light aircraft. At around 200' right over me. For about half an hour. Everytime he went over I landed. But I got pissed off & on his last pass I was hovering about 160'right above me. Within the limit. He had to swerve he could have gone high or low but he turned. It was the last I seen of him. Ha

So when you make it on the news, are you going to post a link to the article, or do you want me to?

Why would I make the news. The pilot was impeding me. I was there first.
I was within height. I was following the rules. Do pilots not have rules & regulations. I think they are supposed to stay above 500'. He can circle an unused golf coarse if he wants, hell it might have been his. But it's not because I know the owner & had permission. But he still has to follow rules. Anyway with all this on camera. I'd be in the clear. For what reason did he not just circle but figure 8 for half an hour below his height, right above me. Looking for trouble that's what. Clear notam says nothing going on not even any choppers for the oil rigs. So I'm OK to fly. If some dipshiit wants to swoop in @ 200' then hey ho. If I want to position my drone anywhere within 400' high & 500m away then I'm OK.
So calm down RENOV8R I'm not a wreckless moron. I know the rules.
I've seen the whites of the smiling pigs that fly pork choppers, namely the police spoiling my fun. Coming down to about 70' they left & no cars showed up afterwards. They must get a pilots licence & think they are special. Well they are but it's the wrong type of special, retarded.

The FAA has no authority to regulate military or police aircraft or operators (miliary and police pilots are not even required to be licensed, actually), but they do regulate civilian operations. A private pilot operating below 500 AGL over a golf course with someone on it is in violation and risking action against his license. He isn't supposed to be there.

If he ever comes back I will report him.
He could have had a legit reason to be there just not at that height. I fly freestyle acro but I have gimbal I can attach for photos on days out. So after half an hour of interrupted flying, all on cam I decided to take pictures of the light house which is 87' high. So if I want a top down shot from double the height. Then I'm quite within my boundaries. Only you guys know I positioned my self purposely on a line I new he would take. To anyone else I'm just taking pictures or whatever within my rights. If he did crash into my quad then I would have my legit account verified by video. So no article for RENOV8R to read only more fake news.

Wow, this screams chip on the shoulder to me...

If you go out with the attitude and mindset of looking for a confrontation over who has "the right of way", you'll eventually draw the attention of the involved law enforcement authorities. Even if you aren't in violation of FAA rules and regulations, there are more than enough local ordinances and/or state statutes that can be enforced. IE: Motor vehicle violations, summary criminal violations, etc, that they might observe you committing. Either en route to, while at, or leaving, the area in question. It's like the old military joke: "The Army can't make you do anything that you don't want to, but they can certainly make you wish you had....".

So now your saying I'm in the right but the cops will do me for something else. They can try.
No. I'm saying don't go looking for a fight, when you don't know all of the "rules of engagement". Al Capone was a murdering gangster. The Feds couldn't prove it, but they got him for tax evasion. You may not violate one law, but they will settle on getting you for violating another. It's the end result that matters. Don't dare them. They are patient, and can wait for the right moment.

I'm not in the habit of breaking laws & I was not looking for trouble.
Just doing what is within my rights. I don't know why you are saying they will get me on other charges. The end result would be I was within the rules & proof the pilot was not. UK Bobby's are not like your military police in the USA.
They have brains & use common sense. All my kit is legal 25mw. So I hold my head up high.

Have it your way. What I do know, is that statutes tend to be stricter in Europe than here. Feel free to push the limits with them if you want....

How am I pushing the limits @ 2-300'.
Landing everytime he passed. While he's getting lower and lower. He is now impeding my airspace where he should not be. Police chopper I can live with but not just any pilot acting like a buzzard.
I only put my 2p in because it goes both ways. Rules are rules. I have evidence to back me up. I doubt his shitty plane did. He probably off radar.

Like I said. Have it your way. I know that I've been reading lately about the Solicitor General in the UK cslling for a crackdown on drone pilots, at the request of private and commercial pilots. Do what you want, and we'll just watch and see how it shakes out.

think i'd deleted a couple of possible replies to this post, mainly because i don't see any reason to contribute to judgement or any discernment of what actually occured from an internet post. but the thing is of course, and who knows who moz is,

offending (stupid) people who have wealth or power (and that can be *or*) even unintentionally can turn the rest of your life into insubstantial fecal paste. avoid like napalm hedgehog enema.

Could you translate that into English?

I'm just giving my side of an incident but people are translating that I'm in the wrong for simply flying with permission within boundaries with legal gear.
"you just do what you want"
Chuck got fly up his backside
Yeah at the request of stupid pilots who flout the rules just like some drone pilots.
You know there are peni-heads everywhere. I did fly RC up until I was 16 then lost interest. I got back into drones abt 20 months ago. Now I'm 42 work 50hrs a week. it's a hobbie I must have invested over 2k in that time, I'm not going to go out & spoil it for my self.
I did see my arse with the pilot but I went up within 200' the drone was between me & the lighthouse & he came up behind for about the 6-7th time. So if he is only about 100' Above a 87' high structure. Yes they may turn it into fake news but the camera don't lie. So even though I pretty much coverd it. Chuck who may be the dumb pilot for all I know, is still gonna say,
yeah but. All I can do is be sensible if something happens beyond my control then that's life.

i have a cat that like to wipe his arse on the carpet. he sticks his back legs up in the air and drags hisself along with his front legs and leaves a streak. he learned it from another cat and there's no way to reeducate him because he was raised feral and has no issues and will jump on your head (so glad i taught him to jump on everything..) only remove or eliminate him.

i have no solution for evil in the world, only that tonight is a full moon and you know, when things are at their worst, is the time you look up and see him scooting along like he's riding a tiny roller skate. once in a blue moon thank goodness but timed for maximum trauma.

the function of evil is to remind you that life wasn't made to last forever and is therefore of little substance. wealth and power are worldly things and the persons who pursue them have little regard for superordinate rationale.

Uh, no. I wasn't "the dumb pilot", since I haven't been in the UK within the past decade. But having been a military aircraft crewmember as well as in law enforcement, I have had prior contacts with individuals that take the attitude of: "I'll do whatever I bloody well want. And I dare you to do something about it!!!" For those in the position and authority to enforce the rules, regulations, and statutes, it's just a matter of patience, observation, and timing. Sooner or later. The one that "threw down the gaunlet" will slip up and violate something. Maybe not something directly related to the subject of the dare, but something entirely unrelated, and be caught in the act. And it will be a legitimate arrest or citation issued. At thst point, the "challenger" can argue his case in front of the judge. Who will no doubt take note that the violation prosecuted, is entirely unrelated to anything else the violator is arguing. IE: Caught speeding in his car, not flying a drone, etc. Just like if your neighbors make a complaint for a violation. Police are under no obligation to ignore another violation in plain view, unrelated to the initial complaint.
