drone failsafes when it moves to fast

betaflight noob

New Member
hi, i have had several problems during the construction of my first drone, but now i'm stuck. I've set up the controller in Betaflight. When I arm the drone and raise the throttle, the drone does not get more than a few centimeters into the air before it turns off (fail safe?), And falls down again. when I hold the drone in my hand and make a sudden movement (turn it around in any direction) it also turns off. it seems to think it is about to crash, but this happens way too soon. this is the first time i am on any forum and hope someone can help me with this. I'm sorry for my poor English ...
I attached my betaflight configuration.

Hi I am confused Fail safe , fail safe is normally in the binding process what it does at the time of binding the transmitter to the receiver you have, the transmitter in the state you want if signal is lost ( centre sticks on Cyclic and no throttle ) so you don't have a fly away
sorry I never used beta flight

I would check to make sure all screws are tight and there is nothing touching the flight controller to cause vibrations.
Something similar happened to me on a maiden flight recently. Fortunately it was only 5 or 6 feet from the ground when it shut itself down. A set of motor screws had worked their way loose, causing either erratic motor or gyro activity I'm guessing. Now I use locktite ALL the time.

There can be multiple levels of failsafe, there is failsafe that kicks in to prevent fly aways as described above and can also have a failsafe on the FC since it is the controller/brains sending signals to the ESCs so if it loses signal from receiver for whatever reason it can reduce throttle and go into angle mode to more safely return to the ground. Sounds like the failsafe mode you're describing (holtneil) sets the receiver output in case of loss of signal from the transmitter.

I seem to remember that that as a fail-safe option for lost signal, though I would agree with Renov8r that it sounds a lot like a brownout as the voltage over your 5v circuits may be dropping too low as the motors use all available power.

Hi, thanks for the answers! I have followed this video (link below) except that I use FrSky R-XSR and not FrSky XM + Micro reciver. I checked all the screws and there was no problem there. Flight control is softly mounted and vibration does not appear to be the problem. When I attach the drone to the bench, I can give full throttle without it getting turned off (this work bouth on 6s and 4s batteries). Sometimes when I try flying the drone without making any changes other than using a 4 s battery, it dont turn off but it starts spinning. (I have not tested this on a 6s battery yet because i have no longer a 6s battery) When I let the drone stand still and raise the throttle, the drone began spinning clockwise as many times as it spins counterclockwise. (it spins not only one way) I have problem with fly away/fly away prevention bouth on 4s and 6s battery. I should also mention that when I tried to hold the drone still and gave full throttle with a 6s (120c 1.3Ah) battery then smoke came from all the motors at the same time after a while. when i let them cool down and tried them again it doesn't look like they were affected by this. is this normal? and can this be the reason it is spinning? after this incident one of the cells in the 6s battery has stopped working. It now works like a 5s battery. Do you think there was something wrong with the battery or something else? (link to the battery below) when I tried measuring the voltage at the 5v on the flight controller while i gave full throttle then the voltage was very steady (4,98v all the time). The propps is mounted the right way, and all the motors is spinning the right way. the motor numers is also right.
