Do quadcopters float?

I'm considering getting a Haktoys HAK 909 quadcopter w/ camera. Are these waterproof? Do you fly them in the rain? I was thinking about using it to scout along brushy river banks while fishing; will it be ruined if it goes in the river?

No they dont float and no you shouldnt get them wet. That being said you could make it so it does float but you would be adding weight to what looks like a fairly small quad so it may not work. As cool as this hobby is and as cool as some of the applications are that you see on the web there are still a lot of restrictions as to what these will do. Once you really get going in the hobby you find out there are all kinds of limitations. You are free to develop and re-invent them as you see fit, If your ideas are good enough maybe you can market them to others.

You could make a hoop with pool noodle material and attach it to longer landing gear, but it would probably add too much weight to this quad. A larger one would be better. I've seen it done with empty 1.5 liter beverage bottles on long carbon fiber or fiberglass arms too. You need stability in the water as well as buoyancy.
