I've been flying helis and planks for a while and have been playing with a toy quad with camera (microdrone 2.0) over xmas and its got me hooked!

I had been looking at the FC40 last year but never committed, now I don't know whether to just buy on or maybe build my own.

I'm in Cornwall, UK so i would like some good advice, preferably with links to online stores and simple explanations! :-)

Is the camera fixed on the FC40? If so, whats needed to make it move?

HI mate the Phantom is a really good platform the FC 40 is what my wife wants so thats what i will buy her ,the camera is fixed the better way is the older phantom 2 with a gimbal , this is my mates shop you can call him for a chat he is a really nice guy ask for Raj http://www.align-trex.co.uk/
this is the best one

other than that you can build one and just put the DJI naza m with GPS and a good gimbal ,some of the phantoms have an extra stick just to do the camera gimbal
Another plus for the older phantom is it takes a normal 2200mah xt60 battery the new ones have a battery in a case so you can only use them ,so stuck paying what they ask for a battery

Thanks for that Neil. I like the look of the new Phantom 2! I'm beginning to think getting a better camera from the start would be a good thing, but thats a whole new kettle of worms.......

Hi mate its not a cheap hobby quads and helis cost my 500 scale heli is at £1300 my quad is a lot cheaper but has not got FPV yet so will go up , It is some times better to buy right first time as your be buying twice , as for the phantom some can be upgraded some cant so you need to get the right one first time , so think really hard on what you need it to do and then see what one will do that , the one in the link with the gimbal is a really good set up for a gopro , they make a great camera platform , watch this and you can see how well it does and this is the early phantom
