DJI Assistant 2 Verification Code?

I just downloaded DJI Assistant 2. It won't let me get in without a "verification code." What is that and where do I get it?

Are you just trying to "sign in" without "sign up" first? Usually when you "sign up" for a new account, they send a verification code to the email account you signed up with. Then you go back into Assistant 2 and enter the code. DJIs way of making sure you're not a bot

I tried to sign up but they tell me my email is already registered and that puts a stop to that.

I did the password reset. That gave me a new password to get into the DJI site - not into DJI Assistant 2.

So, I open DJI Assistant 2. It gives me a screen where I can either Sign In or Sign Up. I can't Sign In without a verification code, so I enter my email address and the new password for DJI and hit Sign Up. This takes me to a screen titled "DJI Register" which asks me to enter my email address. Below that is a field for my password and, below that, an identical field asking me to "Enter new password again." I am not trying to get another, new password. I just got one. Further, when I enter my email address and then move to the password field just below it, I get a message in red informing me that "This email address has already been registered."

So I enter my newly created password and I enter it again where it says "Enter new password again" and I hit Submit. Of course, nothing happens.

Why is this so difficult? What am I doing wrong? All I want is a freaking verification number so I can use DJI Assistant 2 to upgrade my firmware.

Help!!!

 ... I'm not into DJI either, but I AM familiar with those types of verification processes.
It's not enough to just get the new password (or change your existing one) you hafta respond to the email by pressing whatever

in that email in order to reset the data on their server, THEN try accessing their app ;)

Ok, I was only trying to help you with :

"I tried to sign up but they tell me my email is already registered and that puts a stop to that."

I am not sure about DJI Assistant 2???

I will try to check that for you in a bit, if no one else can help you.

Oh and it is difficult because programmers never look at their USER interfaces from the standpoint of the user. UGHHH!

Okay, I have the Phantom 3 Standard. So I may be talking out the proverbial butttt.

But, apparently you can upgrade the 4 using the DJI Go app on your device. So try that instead of DJI Assistant 2.

Or try looking at these videos.

All else fails go to PHANTOMPilots.com and submit a question to the forum for your model.

or perish the thought ...........call....DJI Customer Support.

Good luck.

What do wives know hahaha.

I refer to mine as the War Department, my brother falls down laughing every time I say it.:D

Thanks so much! The reason I am trying to do it via DJI Assistant 2 is that I tried doing it with the DJI Go App but found that impossible. I was informed that using Asst. 2 involved a much easier process. I'm sure it does - but I am unable to get into Asst. 2 because I end up in a circular loop when I try to get the verification number they say I need in order to access Asst. 2. So everywhere I turn, I hit a dead end. I'll take a look at your videos. I am registered at PhantomPilots and have submitted the issue there as well.

I feel your pain re DJI Customer Support. Have you ever chatted with a customer support rep there? If you're ever looking to waste half an hour of your time no matter what the issue involved, you might want to give that a go.

But here's the thing - everyone is overlooking the basic question I asked in the opening post here: Why is firmware upgrading even necessary when the app is not telling me I need to do it? Have any thoughts on that one?

The first video assumes you have downloaded Asst. 2 and can access it. That doesn't apply to me - I can't access it because of the verification code problem. The second video involves Phantom 4 Pro and I have a Phantom 4. I am not saying all of this to be critical, but, rather, to illustrate the frustrating situation I find myself in.

OK - I will approach it from that angle. Last night, in an effort to get things going right with Asst. 2, I uninstalled what I had and re-downloaded it. I had uninstalled an earlier version and re-downloaded the latest version. I downloaded both the .exe file and the Zip file. When I tried to install, it wouldn't let me do it because it says there are already several files on my hard drive that are duplicates of what is being installed. So I went to the folder where they were supposed to be (Programs(x86) of whatever they call that folder) and cannot find the files referred to, so I can't delete them manually and then proceed with the installation.

This kind of junk is the story of my life when it comes to trying to do anything even mildly complicated on a computer.

Understand, no problem here.

Yeah I really enjoy DJI tech support so much I am very happy my warranty is running out hahaha.

I am always amazed how the tech support people (females) can all sound alike?? Not being racist here, but how do they do that???

Then of course they teach them to mimic what you say..................."oh yes I can see how that would be a big problem, I can certainly help you fix your ********************************"

Of course, they cant haha.

I would make a leap of faith and say if DJI Go says no firmware update. I would leave it at that. Not updating your firmware is not a deal breaker with DJI. In fact a lot of people do not update immediately due to issues that get fixed months later.

Have you tried to fly yet??

If not, try turning everything on without props and see if it all acts normal.

Good luck.

I have had one, very successful flight. I flew two batteries down to warning level. Never crashed. Landed the quad softly and perfectly three or four times. This thing is a joy to handle - much easier than the lighter drone I was constantly fighting the wind with previously.

I tend to agree with you on forgetting about updating until I am prompted to do so. If it works, don't fix it, right? Besides, the update prompt on the GO app seems to be the launching platform for the actual update. If you aren't seeing that update prompt, I am finding out, it is damn hard to do any updating.

I have turned everything on without props. All is normal when I do that.
