Dead forum these days?

Round two. This time I am leaving things as is with the exception of the added guards.

I am trying something new to deal with the cap issue, shrink wrap it to the battery leads for added rigidity.

Busy building. Just finished this sexy little beast. Catalyst MachineWorks Smooth Operator

That is one sweet build! I have been checking out the details and that thing is VERY well thought out. I can see why the frame is as costly as it is but it is worth it!

I've looked into that Massive Droner frame from that company for a future upgrade.

That is a whole lot.of work for something you can do with shrink wrap.

I am going to redo that with some heavy duty stuff that came with my QX90 to hold the motors in place. It has a better shrink rating and glueon the inside as well.

Trying to get this little sucker to fly
But I think I killed the motor at full throttle. Found it in work. It wasn't powerful enough anyway. Maybe without all the tape.
So I l will put the smallest motor I got on it 1806 & see how it goes. The 1.7g servos are quite powerful for the size. IMG_20180910_222727831_HDR-768x1367.jpg

These may not be good enough now.
It was meant to be a very lightweight build but I got carried away with tape then when I dug the motor out, I laughed to myself but tried it anyway.
So the speed this will probably hit now will be too much resistance on the surfaces for the poor little servos.
Maybe some 5g.
I'll still try them but I think these where made for micro rc cars. As this is where I came across them on YouTube some guy had a rc matchbox cars & trucks.
Pretty amazing.
I don't know if the motor blew or esc
It got a quick burst to full throttle & back to min, after throttle calibration and that was it. I tried to get another calibration but no beeps. The esc is flashing the same as normal so I'll keep my eye out for another brush motor.
I sorted a mount out after work today

It's pretty solid, I might try something like this with the s800

I'm also in the process of making a wooden toy plane for my nephew. Hand carved with a 7v coreless motor in the front. Run off a 3.7v AAA size. I'm still digging for a tiny 2S that is the right shape & weight. A little lego head on a micro switch. I'm hoping it will be light enough & if I angle the wings right, it may take off a bit.
He's 6 next year so maybe his first slow flier. Providing we can all still fly rc.
o_O legally, watcha gonna do when they come for you, bad boys bad boys.
Private sector wants our space bad & I'm not selling or yielding.
